OK more work done to the Car.

I'm trying to spruce up the AC controle unit on my car.

I have added more Blue LED's and some new Red ones to the Temprature dial.

Cold

Hot

and in Daylight/Flash

I have them running of the normal light for now but I'm working on getting them to work with the Blue LED's in the Unit
Bright for day and dimmer for night. If any one has experience withthis in the AC unit I'd apreciate any help.

Damnit! You can't do that cool-ass color temp change thing without telling us how you did it! At least a tiny photo? Or is it just way too late for that?

Nice work!

Thank You biggrin.gif

This is still a work in Progress..... laugh.gif

So Far I have 4 red leds and 5 Blue but I'm looking at 3mm leds to get the best light distrebution.

As to How
1) I removed the Clear plastic the normaly surrounds the temperature knob.
2) I solderd up some LEd and placed them inside
3) Drilled a few holes to get the wires out.
4) Connected up the wires.
5) LOL laugh.gif laugh.gif laugh.gif above took me 3 weeks to get to this stage but now it should be quicker.

As I have sead this is a work in Progress and I'm hoping to have a better solution soon
The Problem is that I have to use the Car every day so I cant leve the AC unit out to work on and it's getting a bit batterd with all the in and out stuff.

I will make all plans, mesurements and componets avalabl eto all at 6GC as soon as I can. biggrin.gif

Wow. Simply beautiful work. I can't wait to see the illustrated how-tos! I am so eager to do this with my climate control. Of course it won't look as nice because the NON-USDM climate controllers are so much nicer than ours are, but still.

I think the euro Celicas have that 1st climate control. That thing is so nice... it's actually real climate control. Ours is more of an on/off device kindasad.gif

So of course, yes, I have the second one too. Only mine is special in that the smaller of the 2 knobs has a crack in it. Adds 5 HP to my engine though! laugh.gif

OMG - no comment laugh.gif

I wish someone here would be willing to do ours for us. Out of not just curiosity [I am currently in the market for a red converted CC] - how much do you think it would be to source a simple CC unit liek we get here, convert it and ship it to 77040? If the price isn't terribly bad I'd be down to buy one from you [At a profit to you of course]

Go for it bmj67 wink.gif

Set aside several houres and do it methodicaly and you doo a sweet job.

I love showing off the changes I have made and enthuse outher people to make the chanhes thay have been thinking about.

Suggestions:

1) If you don't have on Get a Multi Meter that can test Diods (i found 1 bad LED in a batch of 10 I bought, with out testing I would have cursed and cursed to try and figuer out what I had done wrong) biggrin.gif

2) Post your progress and finished items you will insire outher people. thumbsup.gif

New Stuff

This week-end I made 2 changes to my car.

1) I shorted my Auto Gear selector by about an inch thus giving me quicker shifts ( laugh.gif )
2) I have fitted an electric boot/trunk release to go with the key and Cable release that was standard on my car.
With (2) I was hoping to tie it in with my alarm system but sadly I don't think it will work.
Now all I have to do is find a rely good push switch and a good location (thinking of the coved up hole in the dash Drivers Side or the round think next to the driver's vent)
for the boot/trunk release

Suggestion on Locations and types of push switches most welcome.
Also any one know of a Toyota push switch I might use.

OK More Updates.

Have been wating for the money to do this upgrade to my Ground Wires.

Changed the puny lead going fromt the top of the engin block (under the hoist hook) to new 8 guage wire and also ran a new 8 Guage wire to the new distributer plate (see last photo)

New 4 Guage wire to engin block next to starter motor. 8 Guage wire goes to Distributer plate.

New Distributer for new ground cables.

Now thats thata all sorted on to cleening up the engin bay. biggrin.gif

Sorry to be a party pooper but is there any chance I could reclaim my V12 1400W 4ch amp? My friend has finished rebuilding his badass Honda and now he has his amp and subs back leaving me with no beats frown.gif

Your ground cables and blue lights look nice now, given this time you've outdone everything I ever wanted to do, nice work smile.gif
