Cheers man, right now I'm in the midst of prepping a pile of stuff to get my car in decent shape again- I've let it go over the years I've had it, so it's due for quite a tidy up as well as a few mods! I'll be changing the gauges and interior lighting to red- I don't want to use LEDs, but finding red caps for bulbs is a PITA, TRD muffler (and possibly some generic headers), replace the broken monsoon visors, repair sunroof, cut and polish and a general detail... but I have a few other things in my life that are taking priority first!
I was considering getting the wiring done, but from this and a few other sites I'm willing to have a crack myself- how much all up do you reckon it would cost for the wiring you've installed/ are installing? Is the one you've installed the one off of trademe? I love the red/blue lights to reflect the change of temperature... This post has been edited by Sick_Puppy: Jan 25, 2009 - 4:07 AM |

I got the 8 guage wiering from trade me $30 or so and then bought a 1 meter 4 guage wire fron JB-HIFI for about $12 and the Gold terminal at the end of the 4 guage for about $5.
Battery Terminal cosy me $28 (trademe) for the pair. Then lost and lots of time to get it installed. The red/blue in the temprature is 4 red LED's and 5 Blue ones. As I have written before I'm working on a better solution but I kneed to get out to a scrap yard and get another unit so I can work on it. Also currently They only work with the lights on and I want to see if I can do a day light and night light situation. -------------------- WWSideWinder - 1996 - 3S-FE - Auckland New Zealand

So things have been a little slow since I helped delusionz rig up the Electric Boot/Trunk and Fuel Releses.
I did the Fuel and Trunk Releces on my car, as well, and I'd been looking for a place to put the switches. I was also looking for a stelth way to do them So this week end I did the following (Yes delusionz this is ver 2.0 you saw ver 1.0 with the Big switches.) Stelth Mode Switches Revield. Switches Again Starting at the Top the switches do the Following. 1st Switch - Enables the Truk Relese (Flick switch to 1 and press the big Siler Button (on dash board) 2ns Switch - Enables the Fuel Release (Flick switch to 1 and press the big Siler Button (on dash board) 3rd Switch - Blue LED Curtesy lighting. 4th Switch - lets me see things on the Head unit - this is also wired to the Handbreak as per safty instructions. (PS this is a secret) 5th Switch - This is a big Secret for now 6th Switch - (Blue momentary) Also Secret for now. I hope to have more updates soon. nuge nuge -------------------- WWSideWinder - 1996 - 3S-FE - Auckland New Zealand

My Old sound system Sucked as delusionz wanted his Amp back and the Sub was louzy so I have updated my Sound System
1) Changed the head unit to an Alpine FVA-W306 [4 x 45w output and a rca output + volume control for the sub] 2) Installed 8" 3 way Ulitmate Titanium II Full Range Speakers in the fron doors - Left the 6.5" Pioneers in the Back. 3) Bought a 2nd hand (but good) Pioneer GM-X802 (good for 300W in Mono mode) + (Sitll have to change the lights to Blue) [now delusionz wants to swap amps with me] 4) Bought another 2nd hand Sub (Mutch better than the 1st one) I just love the Sound in my car now (But I still have to sound insulate it). -------------------- WWSideWinder - 1996 - 3S-FE - Auckland New Zealand

Hey man, Can you do my (2x) CC units?
PS. All the bulbs are burnt out in mine, however I don't think it's the bulbs, since they went out in rows? 1st the bottom row, then the middle row, now everything. I finally finished the cold air intake on the SS-III Celica, man it goes so hard! I'm getting my exhaust redone and my wastegate actuator sorted on Wednesday. I like 18psi but it's a little more useful at 7000rpm as opposed to 5000rpm when its got a fuel cut -------------------- Mike W

this is my CC how did you fix the leds in the dial to get them that bright? This is still a work in Progress..... So Far I have 4 red leds and 5 Blue but I'm looking at 3mm leds to get the best look. As to How 1) I removed the Clear plastic the normaly surrounds the temperature knob. 2) I solderd up some LEd and placed them inside 3) Drilled a few holes to get the wires out. 4) Connected up the wires. 5) LOL above took me 3 weeks to get to this stage but now it should be quicker. As I have sead this is a work in Progress and I'm hoping to have a better solution soon The Problem is that I have to use the Car every day so I cant leve the AC unit out to work on and it's getting a bit batterd with all the in and out stuff. I will make all plans, mesurements and componets avalable to all at 6GC as soon as I can. -------------------- WWSideWinder - 1996 - 3S-FE - Auckland New Zealand

How is the boot and fuel release going (Still love playing with the new switches I installed ) If you can drop one off and do with out if for about 2 weeks I can do it (over worked at work BUT hay I have a job so not all bad ) I can then re work all the LED's and do a better job of the Temp scale. Still got to take the GT4 out for a decent spin.... soon -------------------- WWSideWinder - 1996 - 3S-FE - Auckland New Zealand

Hows progress?
Hey do u have a star screw driver with a dot in the middle? Sorry I can't explain it any better, but those screws are on the seatbelt latch. The flashing light on the dash that tells u that you aren't wearing your seatbelt has never worked in my st205. i had my factory boost controller capped off and it still hasnt fixed my overboost problem I may need to install an intake restricter or something -------------------- Mike W
