Global economic turndown. Lower demand for oil, even though opec is trying to "stabilize" oil prices at a still inflated 70-90 USD a barrel by cutting production. A lot of political undertones going along with the oil roller coaster.

That sounds about right, although I know what they tell us is a lie. I have also heard it had to do with the economic problem in USA and something about gas importers able to lower gas prices (I know I am off but this is the sum of it) because they do not want to help USA and pocketing profits? I dunno, I read something about that on yahoo news, not sure exactly how accurate it is, but that is what they said. Regardless, more people are not using public transportation. So what we can argue is why is it going to go back up?

I am not one to be big on conspiracy, although I do believe these things get set in motion. Gas prices soar>USA Economic Issue> Election> Lower Gas Prices. The president gets looked upon as hero who "fixes" our problem. What this tells me is that officials have lowered our gas to make our problem seem "manageable" long enough for the new president to play as hero. The government also bought a lot of these companies that sold or supposedly went bankrupt. More money in the pockets of others. Anyways, all I am saying is something doesn't seem right. Again, I could be wrong, because I do not follow on news, politics, or anything like that.
