basically, the damn thing doesnt feel like its going into gear at all, and it seems to swap between selecting a gear and not selecting at high rpm shifts.
any suggestions? |

check the linkage cables...maybe you did not fully reconnect them.

i didnt install the shifter mate it came from japan with it.. is it the cables at the bottom of the shifter aye?

when you buy the short shifter it comes with a assembly and knob....there are four bolts that you need to unblot to take out the old one. There are also 2 shifter linkage cables i believe that are clip to it which is what controls the shifting to other gears. Just make sure that the cables are secure...post a picture of what you mean if you want so i can see what you mean .

If I remember correctly aren't there spacers that go under the shifter assembly at each of the 4 bolts to raise the thing up? It's been a long time since I installed mine.

ya there are, you remove the stock ones with the assembly, also we used the stock shift linkages/cables etc....works fine
