my lit ring is in the mail, so i was wondering the better source to wire in the led? is the green wire in the cig lighter good enough? is there a closer wire, im assuming the radio power is constant to keep the settings from resetting? same deal with the clock right? making them bad ideas?

wired it in to the ciglighter bulb, for the clueless outthere power is green wire, and white with black stripe is ground... it takes about 2.5 ft of wire to give the bulb a healthy amount of slack. use solder and heat shrink so you wont have to do it over when the wires get loose under a ghetto electrical tape splice...
im wanting a brighter bulb, maybe an led... the ring isnt the same brightness all around, guessing its typical.... any tips? also, the cig lighter bulb is burnt out any opinions on an led to fit? -------------------- |

I just recently decided to take off the nasty green thing from that bulb on the keyring. The light gets alot brighter without it, and to color it, i used a red straw from a gas station i think, and it glows amazingly. the whole thing lights up right around, and its gives JUST the right amount of color. cant help with the cig lighter thing, i condemned mine. QUOTE (14:19:21) Daniel: That was a JDM hole in the side of the box too. There was so much JDM trapped inside that box that they couldn't contain it, so they had to put a JDM hole in the box to let the JDM out. Hi there to even out my light (not perfect but better) I use 3 layers of white paper in front of the Bright LED. This stopped the Bright Point of light in front of the LED and helped the ring get a more even light. If you ask I'll take a photo and post it for you. -------------------- WWSideWinder - 1996 - 3S-FE - Auckland New Zealand
