Hi guys, ive got a question and i appologise if it has already been covered (but cant find a previous thread that directly answers this.
ive got an st202 3sge, ive somewhat stumbled upon a free (working) ct26 toyota turbo and dump valve...seens as i got these at no cost, i was wondering how difficult (or practical) it would be for me to get a standard gt4 ecu, front mount intercooler and basically set it up onto my 3sge engine???... would the standard clutch/ gearbox cope, need forged pistons? basically can i do it without the car blowing up lol... many thanks in advance.. It's possible, but you would need to make some changes to the wiring harness, plus route your oil/coolant lines for the turbo, downpipe, and 550cc injectors, to name a few things.

Your car wont run correctly on a 3sgte ecu. Its not the same motor, even if you do bolt the turbo on.

yh, sounds like its more trouble than its worth i think... i just thought it would be more cost-efficient than an engine swap itself... thanks for the advice anyway. as far as the boost off the ct26, i was thinking (dangerous thing for me) that if i kept standard boost off it, the engine internals could have coped with it???

i had a 3sge in my ex rav4 i had some years ago sxa11. But for sure if you wana fit a turbo n cooler etc...ull need to do a remap and most important, reduce ur engine compression which is being converted from atmospheric to turbocharged. But its possible. And in my opinion, the 3rdgen 3sge and the 3rd gen 3sgte have really many things in common. Dont think ull need to change pistons. But it would be easier for u to buy a half cut (like i did) celica gt4 3sgte from malaysia (JDM) and get everything (gear box, ecu, rear diff shaft etc...) and enjoy:D like me! It will fit ur st202 without any propblem. ull just need to buy a new exhaut pipe
