It's been done, there was even a thread a week or so ago...just search for it. Pretty sure you'd need the AWD components installed, but it's tricky since there's no room for a driveshaft. Once that's done, just kill the FWD components.

just finished up a kit cobra replica.
i only wish the celica was as nice of a platform as that car is in general room for a supercharged 467 up front, jaguar rear end assembly. it all was just made to go in there. ive been really thinking over the past while about making the celica a project car and undergo some nice changes - make the rear quarter pannels about 3" wider on both sides, add the typical body pieces to make the car look a bit more agressive, and pick an engine like the 3s or something, rotate it and take the car into work and let the fab guy work their magic on making it rwd. then i think that for the same money i can just go out and buy a new is and have fun in that. -------------------- you know why they put sheep at the edge of a cliff.... that way they push back!
(2:27:32 AM) edit: please f*cking work, f*ck, sh*t, piss (2:28:08 AM) edit: that did the trick |

it's been done on a 5th gen if you're thinking about that red one, then the 5th gen was an alltrac so all the rear components were already there to begin with (hence a easier job than a full FWD to RWD conversion) if you're talking about another 5th gen, then my bad. I do remember reading something about an prelude that was converted to RWD before on honda-tech and another old guy who converted the integra to MR which might be more similar to a celica (and maybe easier) -------------------- PROJECT 6TH GEN
