why don't you trust them. Just contact them. I bought my swap from an ebayer. Just ask lots of question, that will help you out a little. You can use your current trans. unless you have an auto. But you can probably do what the 3s guys do when they convert the e153 to fwd.

my advice is, get in contact with a supplier and ask them to import an engine set or front clip from a Toyota Levin 4agze, if you use a MR2 engine set there are a few things that you'll need to make it work FWD, you don't have a manual tranny and the MR3 tranny will need to be converted to FWD which means you have to source a FWD shift linkage, and drill on the bell housing for one of the mounts to bolt on.

get a clip or an engine set from a Levin with 4agze and things will have all the parts needed.

you'll probably pay a little more for a levin engine, but it'll come with a E58 tranny ( 5 speed LSD as an option ) and the 4agze levin was made until ~ 95 so newer engine than the ones from MR2s.

well, don't take this in any bad way but you shouldn't be looking for an engine just yet, you need to start reading a lot about what is involve and how to..

4agze is an engine used on RWD, FWD and MR configurations, it does work on your celi ( FWD ) what I'm saying is that there are minor external differences on the engine from FWD to MR to RWD, so you're better starting your project with an engine that comes from a FWD car, as things will be easier to adapt to the celi,

the best you can do for US$1,000.00 is not to touch the engine, do a tune- up and some suspension mods.

Yea no thanks I've seen plenty of decent engines less than 2000 even 1500

Your not helping as far as trying to convince me out of this

I'm not convincing you out of this, you said you have 1K to put into this, you CAN get an engine set for 1K if you get lucky, but it'll take a lot more to make that engine run on your celi, you need a new clutch, clutch lines, clutch cylinder, pedals, engine mount, new gaskets, exhaust work, new throttle cable, all new fluids, spark plugs, air filter, and that's just the easy to remember items, also remember those that we never plan for.

please go a prove me wrong, get en engine and swap it in your car for a total cost of anything close to US$1000.00 and I'll dig a whole and live there for the rest of my stay here.

if you had a manual tranny stock, and were aiming for a 4AGE swap, that would be totally doable, but auto to manual and 4agze for ~ 1k. yeah sure why not.

biggrin.gif done with this, won't post anymore, so you don't feel that I'm trying to convince you of anything.

Good luck !
