I wanna take my stock pint stripe off but the only thing holding me back is fear of there being a bright white spot where the stripe used to be (my cars white)

how did others go about in doing this?

I pulled the striping off my black car awhile back. There was initially a little bit of difference between where the stripe was and the rest of the paint, but after using some Meguiars polish it came out and you can't tell. My car is a '94 so you could tell the stripe had been on awhile. Definetly worth the time and effort though.

Use a hair dryer and just peal it off and be careful. Take your time with it and you should be fine.

it kinda depends on how old and weathered the pinstriping is. 1bwilson is right about using a hairdryer, it will make it come off easier. If the stripping is in decent shape it should all pull off in one or two strips and not leave much residue. If it's old it will most likely come off in a bunch of peices and leave some glue behind.

Like 1bwilson said, take your time. The thing you dont want happening is little peices to come off. Then your stuck there scarping the tiny unpeeled peices off with a razor.

I personally found it harder to do with a hairdryer. I have been working with vinyl forever. The heat makes the glue stick to the paint better. I just pulled mine off then used goo b gone and took off the glue. Can't even tell it was ever there.

Oh and DO NOT user a razor. Just rub hard and it will come off.
