typically you'd sand it down some then refiberglass it back together. resand and fill then resand till smooth.

Will fiberglass adhere okay to that plastic whatever-it-is material that bumpers are made of? My bumper also has unsightly ass crack and as we all know, crack kills. I was thinking of using some plastic epoxy resin stuff along with something to support it, and basically gluing it from the back, and filling the hairline with bondo or some type of filler before sanding and painting it. I take it this is a bad idea?
Sorry if I'm jacking the thread, I just figure it's still relevant and applicable though ![]() This post has been edited by GriffGirl: Nov 18, 2008 - 3:25 PM -------------------- ![]() |

Fiberglass dosen't stick to polyurethane unless you prime it first. (or unless you've made an isotopic/epoxy/synthetic polyester blend that does stick like me ![]() ![]() Note that this is the cheaper way of doing it. If you are a profesional body guy, then you and me both know that this is a band+aid solution, that works pretty well for $8 or less ![]() -------------------- QUOTE (presure2 @ Nov 6, 2010 - 6:16 AM) Via FB: fcuking awsome!!! If you use MACRO mode, you'll have a clearer close up shot.

Well, Not only does it depend on the material that ur repair but the material ur using aswell. Like if ur trying to repair a minor crask u don't even need a fiberglass repair kit. Just head down to ur local hardware store or walmart and pick up fiberglass filler. Its just like regular bondo but it has fiberglass resin already premixed in. The kit typically come with hardener. All u do is mix the hardener and filler together spread it evenly on both sides of the crack wait for it to dry and start sanding it smooth just like bondo. Oh yeah, it take a little longer to sand than bondo does.

808, after looking at your pics, just use some filler for the first pic. those arn't cracks, those are scuffs. Sand it down, fill it up, sand it smooth, prime and paint.
![]() second pic see above. Tape off the edge when you goto fill it in.
