as do i...they are getting harder and harder to find now a days in good condition unless you want to pay 6-7k+...you can usually fin a couple on craigslist now and then but the ae86 hatchs are getting quite rare...depending on where you live (city) you can usually find one, but if your out in the boondocks your chances arent as good...i have been looking for quite some time now caus they would make a sweet drift car...this guy at my work just picked one up, its an sr5 5 speed coupe for 1000 bucks but its pretty much beat to ****....ebay has them every once in a while too but even there their 8k+....good luck

Restore one. I found a SR5 up here $1000 but I just couldn't afford it. The SR5 part means nothing really, its just so easy and so accepted to swap in a new drive-train anyway.

Honestly, to whoop honda's you're going to need to swap. Thinking about pure specs, I'm certain that even a DA teggy can beat the GT-S straight off the line, let alone a modified honda. There's not much you will be able to do with 135HP in a narrow band anyways unless you tell these honda kids to meet you on a very tight windy road.

So don't expect to find a good clean AE86 unless you are willing to shell out $7k-10k, you should look for a good old project SR5.

Don't build your car to whoop Hondas. Build your car to be the best it can be and to show what you can do with your own two hands [Plus some help from some friends of course] - build your car to be an extension of yourself.
towards that end - I love both the AE86 and the 6GC so if I was in your case I'd probably keep what I already have and build from there. Just my .02

LOL @ wanting to whoop Hondas. What a benchmark. rolleyes.gif

In all honesty, sounds like a cool project. But make it your own car, not something to beat others with.

Oh! Dammit! I Thought someone was calling me! CHANGE YOUR THREAD TOPIC!!! LOL jk.

AE86, um......... Japan. Oh wait, we got old corollas here. If you watched intial D and want one because of that, don't buy the fricken car........ Just play your video games. If you are serious, and want it because you love Toyota and want to own nothing but Toyota and think that all of Toyotas other cars should have been built better for drifting *no matter the reason just built for drifting*, then by all means, you shall find it. So long as you do not let a cartoon turn you into a Honda Stereotypical Driver and you drift all the way to the grocery store, school, and all your other DD destinations.

And for the sake of not getting yourself beat up, please do not bump that Euro-Beat stuff (WTF?! IT doesn't even sound Eurobeat).........

Yeah seriously though, I actually think they are Toyotas best car for drifting. I can't find one, so I am going to get an MR2 Turbo within the next 3 months (plus I need a DD for when I do the swap on my celica). Well, if you get one, just be careful.
