Well I have had my 94 celica gt automatic coupe and I am trying to do some research to learn more about it. Well on how stuff works.com it lists... Verts at 2755 bs Coupes at 2395lbs and Hatchbacks at 2415lbs. These weights seem very light compared to other similar cars, but it is good for performace. Anyways I assume these weights are with the 1.8 engine so they are lighter than mine. Does anyone have the real numbers.

Well, this really isn't gonna help at all, but my GT hatch with 3/4 of a tank of gas and me (160 lbs) weighs 2840 lbs. So it's very possible that those weights are real numbers, dry weight, of course. I got bored the other day and had my car weighed tongue.gif

i went to one on the weekend when we were on an ozcelica cruise.
with more then 80kg worth of wheels, some random stuff (laptop, clothes etc), full street trim, full stereo ( inc but not limited to 2 amps, sub and box) completly full tank. Came to 1450
so dry without the added **** it would be 1300 or less, ahh its nice to be able to see where my work has gone lol.

They weight about 1350kg with a tank of petrol. The GT4 would weigh more because of the extra running gear but it does have an aluminum bonnet and roof to bring it back down a bit.

I decided to put mine on a bit of a diet so got light weight Enkeis (6.5kg each) and removed the Air Con. The air con bits weighed 13kgs plus it leachs power from the engine so no loss when you live in Ireland.

^ Nice! I can't really take anything out of my car... I live in the perfect place where it's over 100 degrees Farenheit in the summer and can easily get down to around 0 win the winter. So uh... I gotta keep my AC kindasad.gif But I have wanted to take my rear seats and spare tire out for a while. Anyone have any idea what kind of weight savings that is???

back seat bottom cushion = ~3-4lbs
back seat backs = ~5-10lbs
spare tire ~15lbs+

sunroof i think weighted in at close to 26lbs
rear seatbelts per side are around 5lbs

air units under the dash come in around 15lbs or so

passenger seat maybe 20lbs if you are lucky

i haven't weight anything in a long time, but run a search we've covered lightening up a celica in depth before

i think my car might weight under 2,000lbs right now laugh.gif

^ Nice!!!!!!!! I wish my car was under 2,000.

If it's only 20 lbs, I'll just leave all my seats and spare tire in. You never know when you'll get a flat. But it was worth looking.
