I'd say once you run the Carfax to verify that it's clean, go for it! You can repair/replace the transmission and sell the car for a healthy profit to someone who needs a work car or something cheap. Some high school kid who just got their license and doesn't care what they have lol. Plus, if it's an ST automatic, I've got a trans that you can have. Still shifts perfectly! How can you not make a profit off that that???

I should say, only if the title comes back clean. Otherwise it's a risk.

i have approval from my wife.

i have plans for it, may keep it auto. for the mean time, but this car may end up being road illegal. Meaning maybe i track it in the future, IDK, i want to know what that feels. Going to the track!

it has a problem going in and only hits reverse? i had this issue with an auto tercel when i swaped the motor out, this could very well be a simple fix if they are designed the same. there was a cable on the front of my tranny: as the shifter knocks back out of park and goes down to R N D 2 1 the lever on the tranny pulls up....could be as simple as the bolt is loose and the cable slip's or it isnt adjusted properly, which could be if the motor got pulled and rebuilt and some one didnt know how to adjust it back...just a thought for you. i unno if they are similar or not but id assume.

If that's all it is, and you don't buy this car, I'm coming and getting it myself!
