it's got a new:

Radiator
Fan sensor switch
Radiator Cap
Water Pump
Thermostat and gasket

It still over heats. Pushes steam out the over flow bottle. Haven't pressure tested it. Seems very intermittent almost random as to when it does this. Outdoor temperature does not matter.

I've seen this happen on a car with a bad head gasket when was the last time you changed it ?? And I've seen people replace all those thing and forget to add coolent I hope thats not your case. Pressure test it to make sure its not leaking too.

Whole head was done like 40K ago. All toyota. Spark plugs are white as snowballs as they always have been. No coolant in the exhaust or oil. Also no oil in the coolant.

have you verifyed the waterpump is spinning?
if so, its a pretty sure bet your headgasket is bad, and if your plugs are as white as you make it sound like they are, that could be a sign of coolant leaking into the cylinder.

Well it pretty much has to be spinning. I did the whole timing belt and pump and all seems well in there. Oddly the old pump didn't appear to have any real issues minus maybe a little drag on the bearing. The plugs have always been rather white in this car. If it was an internal leak wouldn't it smoke like a demon on start and have some form of coolant burning smell? My last thought is thus bum T-stat? Yesterday it was pushing steam and the fan's were not kicked on.

SIDE NOTE This car is a 10/93 manu date. It is a GT, It has a 2.2L but it takes a ST 1.8L thermostat even though the pump is a GT pump. Just one of its many nuances.

Do your fans turn on after your thermostat has been opened? It could possibly be your fans not turning on or malfunctioning.

They will both turn on if you pull the a/c pressure switch connection so electrically they are ok. However the trigger for normal operation I am not sure about. Maybe a relay issue?

Might try it with no t-stat for a week or so. Cold here in NC but still. Piro thanks man. It's the girlfriends car now so it actually lives off Tyvola near the airport. Problem is she flogs the car so that isn't helping.

Not good to hear luisitol. I am very doubtful the HG is bad in mine. Might be the relays and the wiring. Because if the fan won't turn on it surely will overheat.

Check your hoses -- you didn't mention replacing those.

remove your thermostat and run it without the cap to see if your fluids are moving in and out. Could be that you got something stuck in the block or your headgasket has failed. Just because you took it to Toyota to get it fixed doesn't mean they can fix every toyota.

The one hooked to the gauge cluster? Lower hose is on order will pick it up tomorrow. It is only a pin hole but enough that if you squeeze it it leaks and I doubt it allows the system to hold pressure.
