buying and selling Options

Can we make a rule or something that if you are not personally selling an item you cant post it.

Many things from ebay are being posted and people here maybe bidding on that item or planning to bid on it.

I know in the past other people have had things that they were bidding on posted in the buying selling section and I had it happen to me.

I think it ruins the whole auction for a person.

Yes is true you may be watching it, but some others need help. There are no rules, and if rules are made fine.

Some of those auctions also i have missed because somebody else posted. Sometimes maybe not. I actually won because i was the higher bidder. Did i whine, no. Because i am 33 years old, i paid what i thought it was worth. If i lost, maybe i was not ready to chunk out.

Its auction, to the highest bidder.

I apologize to you all, i dont know you personally, but i felt that i have to rant out. I believe in freedom of speech and helping others. Well i have stopped doing it because i was publicly bashed, do i like it, of course not.

This is one of the things upsets , because we are sometimes led to act like babies here. And you get your way here if you are friends with a moderator.

So what now, they forbid these posts. What next, selling for a friend, what you found on craigslist, for all we now then we will not be able to sell any longer.

Do you know how many people i used to see log in 1 year ago when i joined now those names are no longer logging here, gee i wonder why...

i agree with this, only because if i'm bidding on an auction, the last thing i want is a hundred celica owners bidding on the same thing. yes, it's an auction, but if somebody isn't looking for it on their own on ebay, then oh well, they missed it.

to caveat this, the only ebay advertising on here should be if you are in fact the seller, because then it's the same as putting it on here, just no PM's negotiating price.

I have seen people on here complain and have talk to a few about it.
I figured I would post this and see what the majority thought..for all I no more people like it that people share ebay auctions.
When your the one watching the item and you see it posted here it does sting a little.

I agree w/you when you say a lot of people are not coming to the site..I know so many people who will not come to this site anymore...I myself don't visit this site like I used to. That is not really related and its a topic I am staying out of. Many other members have suggested ways they would like to better the site..I was just trying to do the same thing. I'm not trying to cause a fight.

Manny or who ever...you can close this or w/e I'm not trying to call people out or bash anyone...I still don't agree with it but I don't wanna cause a fight or anything on something this little and this stupid...I shouldn't have made a bug deal but after they day I had this was the icing on the cake so no hard feelings...its just gonna suck the next time i'm bidding and someone post it up but we prob have all been there. thanks shannon

I dont agree with a rule made for this either. Then you would have to be consistent and don't post anything from craigslist, or even say there is a 97 GT vert in my local junkyard, because someone MIGHT have been looking at this one particular part from it. And it would have to apply to entire cars as well as just parts, if you wish to ban outside f/s links then do it universally, not just for ebay addicts who might get outbidded. What if i get all pissy about somebody calling a seller on craigslist before me?! God forbid..

And its not like ebay is a private site or anything, anyone can search for anything anytime. Members helping members is a big part of this site.

Anyway, why don't we just make this a poll and see what everyone thinks? Just a suggestion...

ya i have to say this whole website is an excellent resource for parts and info and we often link to other sites...i mean we have more worldwide competition than 6gc competition and its not ALL of 6gc maybe a few who are needing the part but i dont think people should be reprimanded

just remember in this economy we need ppl to spend spend spend and spend lots (cept noone has any money to lol)

so really 6gc and ebay are helping the economy

BTW I still don't agree with this practice, but as said before, there are no rules against it, members can do whatever they want about it, I have lost countless stuff on eBay, why ? because it goes out of my budget, I set a price for myself, and that's what I'm willing to pay, if it goes over that amount, I let it go, even 1 dollar. I'm that budget oriented, you wanna call me cheap ? go ahead, when I said people should be banned, I said it joking, I have no power to ban anyone, nor I have the influence to get someone banned.
