a 5s can barely handle a single turbo.... why would you strap on two of em?

Obviously...you don't know much about turbo systems...

4 cylinder cars don't put out enough exhaust gasses to spin two turbos... unless those turbos are hella small or something, not to mention, it's not practical considering you can't boost more than a few psi per turbo anyways... As I recall, there was a twin turbo MR2, but it was a sequential set-up, meaning one turbo operates in at regular driving speeds, and at high rmp full throttle, both turbos spin... or something of the sort.

And... no...3sgte's don't get TT'ed a lot. I've only heard of one... and it wasn't even a true twin set-up...

Actually, no need to be an @ss Kwanza, I thought it would a fun subject to talk about. I never said I SAW it and I was just wondering if someone has. So go ahead with your attitude none of it is needed.
It was a guestion not a statement.

I didn't intend to sound like an ass, but if that's how you took it...then so be it. I'm just stating facts... nor did I assume anything about you before hand.

I'm confused...do you have a 5sfe turbo or do you wish you had one? Cuz it doesn't list any turbo parts in your profile, but your user name says turbo. Not to be a smart ass, but I would figure that if you had a 5sfe turbo you would know enough to realize a TT setup on 4 cylinders is not realistic, or reasonable rather. Don't take it personally. Just asking.

i think he just wishes he had one

i remember him saying that a while back

and about the twin turbo set up it would be not worth it to get a manifold with two flanges on it to have two cylinders spinning each turbo.

kwanza is right when he said that they dont put out enough exhuast pressure to spin two turbos mainly because they only have 4 cylinders. if we had 6 or more it would be an awesome idea

Two small turbo's like some Disco Potato's or something on a 3sgte would be a neat setup. Everything would be totally custom fabricated though, because there's no way to utilize any stock Toyota turbo's in a 3sgtte setup. You'd have to do a lot of research as well, because the mathematics involved in making a reliable twin turbo setup is very complex and requires tons of dyno time. That'd be sweet if someone did something like that...but they'd have to have the time and money for it...and that would mean lots and lots of it! BUT, of course....it wouldn't be too reliable no matter what because it's only 4 cylinders. Wouldn't work much at all really, but who knows.

And it's great that people are thinking up neat ideas. Imagination is the key to making a kick ass ride.

And, BTW, if done properly...the 5s can take boost...and not just barely handle it there bud. The 5s can take a good ammount of boost if the proper things are done.

..and thanks to thoses who have open minds, were you can realize that someone had an idea and expressed it, with out questioning there knowledge or jus making them look dumb. This site is suppose to be a fun place, not a site were you have to worry about what to ask " Oh no I shouldnt type that.." Anyway no I dont have a turbo but yes it is in my name. I guess that means everyones screen names are true, like "hey is your name really XSTeknique?" its not? Well it says thats your sreen name.

this topic is along the lines of a supra TT swap into a celica.... and a 5s-fe would have to be rebuilt and would just be a waste considering a 3s would be cheaper.

I didn't ask you if your name was 5sfe turbo, I just asked if you had turbo. What you just asked me made absolutely no sense. I told you not to take it personal. I was just asking you a question. For the same reason that you have a right to inquire about something, I have that same right. Your question had no relevancy and these are screen names not real names. It's just that usually, a person's screen name reflects something about themself or their car. I just asked if you had a turbo setup on your 5sfe. I totally agree that this is a place for learning and sharing and there was no problem with your question about a TT setup, it was a legitimate question. But as for asking me if my screen name was my real name...maybe you should think before you type. Have a nice day!

A guy comes into my work alot and has a pretty nice looking celica. I belive its a 96 and he works for toyota.

He says that he is making an engine swap to some 6 cylinder toyota engine (cant remember name). he claims toyota is doing this for him.

is there enough room for the bigger engine or is this guy talking out of his ass?

becuase with all the talk of engine swaps the only one people seem to mention is the 3SGTE
