Hi guys I have a 1996 6gen ss-3 celica and I was wondering about getting it chipped. what is the best one available and what are the power gains etc?

From what I can remember, you have:
JET - send your ecu away to them and they insert a chip. VENOM - buy the module and plug-it in to your ecu. If your thinking of engine upgrades in the future, then you may consider an SAFC. I have a cold air chip (similar to the JET one) fitted to one of my engine sensors. Honestly can't say if it makes a difference, would need to get on a dyno to see. |

i would say to get a safc first. there are other things that you can buy that will up the power and fuel efficiency better than those chips

Chips basically do the same deal as a SAFC... only they can defeat various limters, and whatnot... depending on how or what the ECU is chipped with.
