i did a quick search, but it seemed like people more with issues than what plug wires are recommended. not looking to invest a lot into the car, but still would like to get something that isn't going to be a headache either. also, where is a good place to order parts for the 6g? i'm used to other forums that have a vendor's section and already knowing where to look for other cars. the 6g seems to be a little harder to find parts for, especially the 7afe engine.
thanks in advance. oh and what plugs seem to work best with the 7? i remember having a heyday with a nissan 300zx tt that hated anything but the ngk's you could get from the dealer and an srt4 that wasn't too fond of anything but champion platinums. Hey well im not sure what exactly performance spark plugs do or if we even need them on a 7afe engine since its not a performance oriented engine. But here are some trd wires from japan. It takes like 3 weeks for shipping by the way.

NGK Platinum; I didn't have to gap mine, they were already correct. Whatever factory specs are for the gap, go with that. NGK wires too - you can get them cheaper on Amazon; I saved about $23 on them that way and they still arrived the next day eve w/super saver free shipping.

yay! so i pulled my plugs out to see what condition they were in, and they weren't bad, but i discovered that the grommets that seal the valve cover from the holes for the spark plugs are leaking oil down into the spark plug holes for the #1 and #2 cylinders. after seeing that, i will try and get a new valve cover gasket and new grommets as well, but then i also got the idea to spray paint the valve cover while i have it off. we'll see how ambitious i get tomorrow after i get done installing the rally light bar and the 4 hella 500's. should be a pretty full day.
thanks for the info, will check out amazon for what they have. |

dont buy cheap wires online.
go to www.partznet.com search for wires for your car, and bring that price to your local toyota dealer, and buy OEM wires. -------------------- Former Team 5SFTE pro member ;)

Amazon is just a gateway to retailers that sell the NGK wires - I bought the NGK wires for my car through Amazon for $23 less than I could get them locally. I wasn't suggesting to by cheap-o off brand wires. -------------------- ![]() |
