Personally, I think that would make your car an easy target to get all of that stolen...

i think that its not the best idea in the world but you never know till you try i would like to see someone go for it theres alot of videos on youtube with the remote mount setup and ive seen 350zs with it and a eclipse so idk it may work for a 6th gen well i would worry about the lag tho but would work out great for states with strict emision controls but heres a vid of a maxima with a remote mount turbo

thanks guys for the input alot of things i would have never thought of, if you have more thoughts feel free to post. im going to try this if i can find a dyno in my area, will be a couple of months. this might be a waste of time but as far as i know there is no such thing as a waste of time when your tryin some thing new. so keep posting so i can work the kinks out of it. so far the biggest problem is it getting stole! and spining the spool.

and you run the oil lines like u would with the normal setup (just will need alot of line) and i thought this would be great for people like me with a ST because turbo manifolds are so hard to find. I knew a guy who had one on his camaro and he got like 40ish hp out of it or something like that but paid a little over $2000 for the setup. that way i can maybe try this for under $200 i know it sounds crazy i even think so but if this work out i will be cheap power even if its 40ish. I just saw this post and I have to say That being said, sounds like a good idea for a rear engine car. It's cheaper to just find a custom made manifold for the 7A than buy all the piping and stainless steel line you'd need to run all the way to the front of the car, not to mention all the extra piping and ss line would cost you more than your $200 budget, and all that for like 40hp???? It does not make any sense to do this on a Celica. -------------------- |

It seems that your 1.8 has oil pressure problems when you just add a regular turbo and this is going to get worse when you have oil lines going all the way to the back. You might be able to slap this together but I doubt it will run properly and you engine wont probably last and it will cost you way over $200 to put this together.
good luck spooling the turbo, since you are not going to be moving a lot of air until high in the rpm -------------------- I am addicted to Turbos

if done cheaply ,and fast ... then it wont work well. if done right ,and you size up a small turbo to build boost at a lower spool point, then i say it might work . is it cost effective ..... i would not think so . maybe a little easier to install, but i would think the oil feed and return would be a trouble point with this set up. that and a lowered car would have trouble i think. this is just my opinion , good luck on it if you do try it ,and i hope it work out . it would give us a new option to look at.
