the days are counting down to my impending swap... and like everyone else i wanna keep an eye on boost /vacuum, airfuels, oil pressure.
simple solution would be the a pillar gauge pod, well i hate how that looks, too much of an attention getter...

i want something clean, inconspicuous, and functional/ without grabbing the attention of state troopers that wanna pull me, over or crackheads that wanna put a brick through my window.

so, over the past 2-3 months i've been gathering spare interior plastics so i can mod the hell outa them and still be able to return to stock if i dont like the look...

taught myself how to fiberglass with the advice of the D-man, without him id still just have an idea and no way of pulling it off.

time now for crappy cellphone pics!!!

also, id like to again thank the D-man, as well as miss supershannon, richee3, and gatar11

and as a small side note, i fuggin hate sanding because of this project!

and now in primer after lots, and lots, and lots, and lots of sanding, and re sanding, and re sanding....

now that im basically done, i figure id see if there's any interest in me making up a batch of these and sell em in a group buy

keep in mind, i cant make a mold and pop out copys like the DCW pods. these would all be custom, so i need a core deposit...

and im just gauging interest with this thread, its a real pain in the ass to make so its gotta be worth my time if i do goahead with a group buy

Nice!!! I love how everything turned out. I can't believe how much that AC vent has changed from when I shipped it out. If I ever turbo my car or anything else, you've got my business thumbsup.gif

I got u. Actually u can make the template out of cardboard. wrap it in painters tape just one side. pour resin then fabric then one more resin let dry peel it off and cut and trim and u have ur own template.

make sure u draw the circle on the tape before u start ur resin though. the marking will come out on the template once its dry. so u know where to make ur cut. then sand it smooth. keep that template though to make more gauges.

LOL - I made a single and a double of this one too. On your double one - were you able to keep the little circle where the UK guys have their foglight switch? I need that one and the stuff behind it as I'm already using that spot for something. Currently I just have my single one with the AEM Wideband since it doesn't match any of the other gauges whatsoever [But too important not to have it]

haha sanding is a PITA!

Nice work with the side gauge mount mate, looks good.

And DEATH, looking at it theres no reason why the hole couldn't still be there, plenty of room. I have removed the hole on mine and put my switch in one of the small covers that are just below the steering wheel, got my Aerial switch and my foglight switch under there at the moment.

hmm, need to buy more fibreglassing resin, been ages since I made anything!

the little circle had to be cut, you can see in the pic below where the bodyfiller is abit darker red/pink around the outline...
its a tight space for two 52mm gauges to fit without cutting out the clips.

and yes sir, wideband is a must for upping the boost/ the top pod is reserved for my prosport airfule

thanks for the compliment, you celica is awesome! i didnt mean to diss ya in chat about gauges
