Hey all, My car just started having this weird knocking on acceleration problem, I'm not sure where exactly its coming from but its somewhere in the engine bay. It'll knock on acceleration then disappear, I don't know if its the lifters or broken springs or what I will be changing my oil next week prob won't do anything but I plan on replacing the head gasket this summer. I just wanted to know if it'll be better to get a rebuild cylinder head, used cylinder head, or would it be better to rebuild my old one instead ?? Thanks

Valves don't knock, they have a light tap to them. If it's a knock it's going to be in the bottom end, you can do all the head work you want it'll still knock.

Trust me, I do this every day

Will the problem went away today when the temp went above -0 weird.....no more knocking for now. My friend had the same problem on his accord all he did was change the valve cover gasket and the knock went away.

Edit: When I first bought my car it leaked oil after some tune-up on it the leak stopped so just in case somebody thinks its because I'm low on oil.
