Im planing to do a 3SGTE swap into my 98 Celica GT and i just wanna get something straight.
The 3SGTE is all wheel drive so do i have to get the rear diff. drive shaft and all that and covert my car to all wheel or is it possible to just drop the 3SGTE engines and use some toyota tranny and leave it front wheel drive?
I read on some site that the GT-S tranny works with the 3SGTE engine is that true?

When you "swap", you only change out the motor. The car stays fwd.

This question is for the Canadian members. I live in toronto, Ontario. Does anyone know of a good shop that will do the 3SGTE swap in the GTA area. If yes, and you have done it how much did they do it for?

hey guys just found this site thought i would give use a hand with this one

iv got a st202 with a rev3 3sgte in it,
i do it my self with help from local garage im useing a mr2 turbo gear box converted to run fwd which also means it just a gt4 cluch that im useing so its all the same kit dont have to change parts over,
another thing is u will need the GT4 bonnet and front bumper if u are useing the charge cooler as the st202 bonnet wont close but if u get a front mount intercooler then u can still use st202 bonnet and bumper,

if there is anymore uses need to know just ask

cheers

No sense in spreading miss information on this site.

The 3sgte swap is VERY WELL covered here. Just use the search function, and look in the stickies.

You DO NOT need the GT4 hood and bumper to do a GEN3 ST205 swap. The hood closes fine with the Stock top mount water to air Intercooler, and we know this because there are several members currently doing so. The bumper has nothing to do with the factory front heat exchanger that comes with the ST205 swap, so the stock USDM bumper does not need to be changed either.

I too am currently running a GEN3 3sgte with an MR2 LSD transmission. I am using a Act clutch for an MR2.

You CAN use your a factory GT tranny (S54). As mentioned above, you need to use a "hybrid" clutch.
