I wanted to know what the best way to take care of Camber on our cars.... My current tires are wearing poorly due to bad camber an no alignment.

If i get new tires, how can i assure they will wear out evenly? My first step would be to get them mounted and balanced, then have the car aligned. But wanted to know if you guys would recommend what this guy used on his mr2: CRASHBOLTS

If you cant find them on the link here what they look like:

They are thinner than the factory Shock connecting Bolts which give you some play on the knuckle. Will these help adjust for camber? or do i have to get a camber kit?

Any help would be greatly appreciated... whenever i get the money, i want to get new tires and i want to avoid irregular wear from my car being lowered. thanks! biggrin.gif

The crashbolts will work just fine. How much did you lower your car? I was able to get my car aligned within spec without the use of any camber kits or crash bolts. My car is... pretty low too.

My car is Dumped! just look at my profile photos... im a few spins shy of the bottom on my tein SS coils.

Thanks for the input MaskedMan! Id like to get rid of a little negative camber in the rear and even out the camber in the front, i think one wheel leans in more than the other.

I called toyota and they are 5 bux a bolt. the dude in the website says he used 1 per wheel, just replaced the upper bolt and adjusted the camber....

Ill start in the back and see how it goes.

If you guys have any tips let me know biggrin.gif thanks!

looks like you have full coils. can it adjust camber on the top mount??? you can buy Eibach camber bolts. its easy to install and takes about 3 mins each tire.

I do have coils but i dont have adjustable top hats however.

It looks like the Eibach kit is the same concept as the crashbolts, only they have that little bump on the bolt to move the shock back and forth. they cost a bit more, so...

I think im gonna try out toyota's bolts, seeing as how the guy in the page had the same result. Thanks for pointing me in that direction though.

Ill let you guys know how it goes. If you have any objections, please let me know. thanks!

You'll still need a full alignment job regardless of getting crash bolts or camber bolts (the ones with a little bulge). Messing with camber throws off your toe alignment which causes far more wear and tear on your tires than camber.
