Ok, so I havent gotten any help on the other forum that I regular, so I figured I would ask here as well.
I have a 1992 Celica GT with a rev 2 5sfe. Friday I was driving up to my college and it seemed like it was running ok. When I was cruising though, and kept my foot at a steady speed, it seemed to jerk a little bit. If I gave it a bit more throttle it would be ok, or if I let off it would be ok. When I came back outside to leave, it idled really low, and died, but I managed to limp it home ok. I swapped TPS's with my 6th gen, and it idles a bit better, but it still fluctuates and misses. All of my vacuum lines are ok. I checked my IACV and it is not plugged. When I am at idle sitting still, and I rev it up, if I slowly rev, it seems like it misses, but if I do it quickly, it is ok. Any ideas of what it could be? Could it be a bad o2 sensor? I need to get my car running properly because I have to go to college, and I dont have a transmission in my 6th gen yet. Please give me any ideas that you guys have, I would really appreciate it. Thanks -Ryan |

i agree w/ the two posts above. it is most likely a plug, wire, cap, or rotor issue. or a combination of any of those.
do the above mentioned items, clean whole throttle body, then look into your TPS, IACV, ignitor, coil, cam pos sensor, in that order. -------------------- QUOTE "And, as always, your friendship, help, and dedication to the advancement of Texas Celica dominance is GREATLY appreciated.
