if you can get into UPS stay there...awesome company with outstanding benifits and the oppertunity to advance within the company..my grandfater was the president of the teamsters so hopefully he can get me in once i get my license back but they make really good money...i know driving, drop off, and pick up of packages you can make as much as $35 if your working OT, and they always let you work OT. Its something to look into though, and if you can get in, its a great company.

The hangar I work for now does contract work for FedEx doing line maintenance on the 727-200. I am there every night Mon-Fri. The system they work off is top notch. FedEx really knows what they are doing. I mostly know the aviation side of them, but the package handling seems to be in great order too. Either location would not be a bad job at all.

you dont want to work at ups unless you go straight to driving or ur just there for the benifits and have another job and what not.i work twilight revenue recovery 5:45pm to 9:15(pushing it) and iv been here for a year and get $9.85hr and feb theres a raise so ill be doing $10.35hr.the only good thing is that evry year you get raises but theres no point cuz the hours suck.i get $140 a week.and another good point is that 1 year of being there you get paid holidays and a week of paid vacation.

One of my best friends is in UPS and he loves it. He's been doing it for about 10 years. He enjoys the benefits and the hours. He says the pay is great also.
Or is he USPS? -------------------- "Remember, amateurs built the ark and professionals built the Titanic. But revolutionaries built the Celica!"- Me |

I had a buddy who worked at UPS during his first 2 years of college. It wasn't bad, if your back can take it. Actually he had the worst lifting technique, but you have to work soo fast technique is thrown out the window. You'll be sweating like a grease monkey working in the trucks. If you don't mind working fast and sweating, its your job.

Yeah I currently work at the Tampa Hub for UPS, bro I can tell you this. I make 11.50 i've been there for about two years. Ok heres how it works, the pay is good but since you are part time, I work about 15-20 hrs a week so its decent and I got to college school it works our fairly well. You can pretty much forget about a driving posistion for awhile with the economy being the way it is, but if you can withstand the wait thats where the money lies. UPS really shines with its benefits. Health, Dental, and Vision are all free with a $10 co-pay for doctor visits. Package Handlers is UPS's way of saying your going to be loading trucks for 3hrs bending over a 1000 times a night lol, Ive done it, avoid IT! if you get in request to be in small sort, or clerk some type of gravy posistion. If you have any questions let me know!

I work at the Lenexa, Kansas hub on the night shift. 11-3:30ish at night loading semi-trailers. It really isn't that bad if you can handle 4 hours of physical labor. My only complaint is that my manager is a retard, otherwise the job isn't too bad. After you gain seniority (30 days lol) you can bring you Ipod to listen to, makes the time go by faster. Works out perfectly for me being in college. Plus they give out lots of free food and stuff. I've got hats, frisbees, a UPS Camelpak, etc etc.

If you have any questions let me know! well, right now im taking my last general class in college. i do have a job which pays me great. it's full time with great benefits. so im looking for the twilight time which at fedex is from 7pm to 11pm. the pay is 10.50. 11.50 if i work the midnight shift but ****, i tried that once at a different company and i never returned lol! im just looking to make a lil' money on the side is the benefit thing a requirement? i already have it with my other company? me, personally, i don't mind the lifting and all that. it's only for a few hours and one of the supervisors told us that we'd be working 10-15 hours, which is super fine with me im already making 1k+ a paycheck at my other job so this'll be my gas check ha. Are you talking about the hub in Mahtomedi? I worked there for for the last 3 years, finally quit last month. It was a good job, great money, they basically pay you to work out everyday. I think I was making 13.50. The first 2 weeks were a little rough, but after that it was a breeze. Overall it was a good experience, I'm still in awesome shape, but eventually I developed pains in my wrists and lower back, so it wasn't worth it to stay any longer.
Man, if the timing was different I would have recommended you! This post has been edited by Muggs: Jan 25, 2009 - 12:16 AM -------------------- |

Go down to your local shipyard, hand them the package, and ask if they can ship it for you.

When you ship stuff it goes on a ship - thought this was public knowledge.

You can also go to your local Navy recruitment office and ask to enlist. Because the navy has lots of ships, every person that enlists gets free shipping!
