Whats the Differences with the GT4 and a 1998 SS3
- Power?
-Performance?
-Reliability?
- interior Luxury?
Whats the latest year the GT4 came out?
IS there much of a price difference between the two?

All you need to know is GT4. If you have the option of a GT4 or SS3, just get the GT4.

Yeah the GT-4 has more horse power and is awd but if money is an issue the SSIII would be a better choice with cheaper maintainence, insurance and cost of vehicle but if money isn't as much of an issue go with the GT-4, they're both reliable cars with good performance (GT-4 obviously better in that category) and for the interior I think all 6 gen celicas have nice interiors smile.gif

Yeah, a 6th gen Celica is a 6th gen Celica. Basically all you have to know about a GT4 thats different is:

Turbo engine
All-Wheel Drive
Different Hood (opening for intercooler on top)
And a GT4 spoiler.

The GT4 has an engine that is "easily" modded up to 700HP. The SS3 does not. You do the math.

the GT-Four (st205) ran until 1998.

and I along with everyone else so far recommend the gt4. its funny because no one thats posted so far has never driven either cars but they feel so strongly for the gt4.

so i think you know what to go with.

Actually, the GT-Four was made until 1999, just for everyone's information. wink.gif

Actually, the GT-Four wasn't just offered in Japan. How exactly do you explain Magic's '99 GT-Four?

All celica's were made in japan, so if there are 99's here there must have been there... New Supra's wern't made till '94 but people still call some 93.5's... so 98.5 would be a 99, my car was built in December '96 and is classified as a '97.

Mathew needs to not post incorect information all the time, happens often to much. wink.gif biggrin.gif wink.gif

GT4's are turbo, which means more maintnence and problems down the road. Some SS3's have beams engines with Variable valve timing which means more constant power and much better gas milage.

Actually, there were no sixth generation Celicas sold in Japan in 1999. Like Matt said, the seventh generation Celica was sold as a '99 model in Japan.

It was but a joke matt, calm down man... seriously only a joke, didnt mean anything by it. And your right about none produced in 99, but like I said if there produced late in the previous year there marked as the next year. Like my car for example (like I said above) it was built in Dec '96 but was sold as and registered as a '97.
