Is it possible to put a FMIC on a normally aspirates car? Would you just run the piping to the throttle body? If anyone has it let me know what kind of horses it can produce

dude i'm stepping in before people flame you.

it would do absolutely nothing. a CAI will get you just as cold air as hooking an IC. the reason you need an IC is b/c turbos a SCs compress the air to get more in the engine, so it gets hot, and the IC cools it down. but it's totally not necessary on a NA car, you would probably lose power.

it would hurt performance, i would think

makes it harder for the engine to pull in air.

Way to make a first impression, I am sorry I failed to impress you. I knew that fmic were used on turbo applications, but wondered if they would do anything positive for a N/A. I have no experience with fmic's so I asked, for and answer, not to be criticized. I am sure that everyone on this board is all knowing when it comes to engines and none of you have ever had to ask a question. You act as if I asked if those electric fans on ebay would really give me boost! Next time I will make sure my question is worthy of your vast intelligence.

You probably wouldn't have been criticized if you had first asked for the "purpose of an intercooler." Doing so would have made a lot of us realize that you have no understanding of it's purpose and functionality, and thus allowing us to provide a more appropriate response. However, immediately asking if a FMIC will work on a NA celica and the AMOUNT OF HORSES it will add just shows how ignorant you truly are.

If you want to save face, you may want to start off by reading up a little more or search for topics. Believe me, a lot of topics, issues, and concerns have been discussed already here and on other msg boards. You may also want to try searching on a search engine (i.e. Google.com) first or go to HowStuffWorks.com. If you can't find your answers there, then feel free to ask here. I don't think people mind helping out newcomers, BUT I think I can speak for most when I say that nothing annoys people more than seeing a question asked repeatedly, one that has been answered many times before, or a question that is not well-thought.

Hope this helps you start off on the right foot with your moding endeavors...

Seems as though Kuya has an inferiority complex. Asking that question shows ignorance how? I thought that was the point of these message boards! I could have asked the purpose of an fmic but that wouldnt have necessarily answered my question unless someone with E.S.P knew I wanted to know if it would work on a n/a.

Thanks to everyone for the warm welcome, I feel soooo loved
