well i finished installing my ground controls today. if you read in my previuos post the last time i tried to install i couldnt do the rear ones b/c i had a rusted/striped bolt on my swaybar linkage rod(the part that connects the rear swaybar to the strut). b/c of this i couldnt get it off the car to grind down and put the new springs on. well today i figued i would attempt again with PB Blast. this stuff helped loosen but still no good. i ended up stripping the allen on the passenger side as well. i did get it loose a lot though. so now i have to loose sway bar linkage rods. anyways i read one person had the same problem so they just installed with the struts still on the car. now this was quite more aggravating but i went at it anyways. worked like a charm. i adjusted the rears almost all the way down(supposedly 4") and havent complety settled but am tuckin a lil tire. i will try to get pics tomorw with my friends digital cam.
my only problem is that the sway bar linkage rods aren't complety tightened and i have no way of doing so b/c of the stripped allens. this causes them to rattle(more on noises later). i'm going to try to cram some washers in there to fill up some extra space. other than that any suggestions. Overall verdict of ground controls on stock shocks. i have had the fronts on for about a week and the rears for about an hour. they look good if you want to lower your car a lot but as know on ground controls they are NOISY. the ride is stiff with a lil bounce(i'm lowerd near maximum though). if you have no need to go lower than 2" buy the eibachs-cheaper and less noisy and less install trouble(no grinding although that part wasn't hard just one extra hassle) cormudgen |

try raising it up some and the noise gets beter and the ride improves drasticly, also did you grease your top hats? that is a common place for noise.

Yeah, if you dropped them all the way down you're totally on the bump rubbers. You might try what I did and trim them a little. I think I took like 2 of the sections out of mine, that gives you about an inch more shock travel. I think mines dropped like 3" or so and I don't run out of travel on anything but the most severe stuff. I also have very stiff springs tho, so your results may very.

yes, i did cut the bump stops in half. only 50% of what was orginaly on there remains.
