Hey everyone,

I'm looking into replacing my 1.8 for the 2.2 or the 2.0. but I am having a hard time locating a trust worthy place to look into. all these "JDM" engine site look way to fishy for me... even some of the Rebuilt sites. I know there are a bunch of you who have replaced their old engines, so I'm hoping for the Grand Guidance of the 6gc.net forms lol. I live in Arizona so Phoenix or Tucson (most likely Phoenix) shops would be great buuuut I don't mind looking into shipped engines. it seems some businesses give free shipping? oh and also looking for the Tranny that bolts up to each engine as well.

Thanks in advance for the wisdom you will give me,

Soul

Go to your friendly Toyota Dealers and buy a brand new block...its cheaper than you think.....you can even get a brand new built short block for £1800 (comes with crank, rod, pistons and all bearings) all built to Toyota spec

new shortblocks run for about 1600-1900. the best advise i give to everyone. go ahead and get a JDM engine. then tear it apart yourself. put all new OEM bearings, rings, and gaskets in it. this will give you experience and teach you new things. i also suggest getting the BGB from a parts guy.
