so ive got a 94 with the 7afe engine. recently, my egr diaphram went out, which i originally believed to be due to my catalytic converter. After taking everything apart, i found that it wasnt exactly my cat converter, but whatever that thing is attached to the bottom of the exhaust manifold. the material inside of it was clogging the pipe, which was causing my loss of power issues, and eventually my egr diaphram burning up. or at least im assuming, thank god it didnt ruin the motor. So after i fixed everything up, put it back together, the car runs and sounds great, with the exception of the idle... it will go from roughly 1.5k rpms to 2k rpms every few seconds, even after warm up. However, with gas, it accelerates fine and smooth, and i can hold the rpms to a set point with no issues. All my vaccum lines appear to be ok and connected, or at least the ones i messed with.
anyone have any ideas? |

yeah, its not supposed to idle that high... its supposed to be in the 800-1k range... can anyone tell me where the vacccum line is supposed to be connected on the idle control valve? there are 2 ports, yet only one hose i believe that was connected to it from the egr diaphram, but i cant remember if it was on the top or bottom... ive tried both so far, and neither seem to have any effect on the idling issue i have... and i dont have any check engine lights coming on... anyone???
