Ok, WOW. where to start.. last week on te 21st was when the build started. everything was goin good. we got into the garage got the bumper off and started takeing apart the exhaust manifold and such. the night went on and we really didnt get to much accomplished. we pulled the engine because we thought it would be a but easier and less time consuming. so we pulled the engine and started to get to the headgasket. the composite one i has was SHOT. i wouldnt have lasted long if i kept it. so we put the metal headgasket on and started witht he flywheel and clucth. i used a stage 4 clucth from doctor tweak. which is amazing. we ran into SEVERAL problems. 1st big problem was the injectors. i cant find this anywhere on 6gc. but. YOU MUST GET 460cc HIGH IMPEDANCE INJECTORS. check the part number b4 you buy, if the last 4 digits are 1350 DO NOT BUY. cant stress it enough. the part number you want is 2010. i cant thank DEATH enough for sending me those injectors. those injectors are a BITCH to take out so make sure ur right the 1st time haha.
tuesday night we attemped to do a mock up on the turboa dn wastegate. but of course. another problem arose. the wastgate woldnt fit due to the oil filter. SO what we did was order a relocation kit fomr the local shop. thinkin we were golden..another problem. oil filter relocation still got in the was of the waste gate. BUT it came with this small threaded peice that we screwed into the filter and removed the oil cooler and spun the bitch down. wastegate fitted pretty good but im still gonna have to take it off to cahnge the filter. as if all that wasnt enough, the night b4 the estimated dyno date while installing the oil lines, the fukcin oil reducer snapped when it was being tightend. it was some cheap ass cast metal. so i spent a good 30 minuted rumageing thru the shop tryin to find somethin that would work for an oil line. i rigged somethin up for the time being. we got the I/C piping all welded up and fitted on REAL nice. gotta thank me and cams friend joey for putting some nice beads on the piping. so now its dyno day. or so we thought. we got everything bolted up and connected and decided to start it so we can see what problems we had. well. we tried starting and it would turn over but not start. from tehre we started eliminating problems. spark was fine, fuel was going through, but the problem was it was putting to much fuel into it which extinguished the spark. so we went to take fuel away with the SAFC. turned the car to the on postion and the MF'in SAFC would turn on. so we said ok maybe the wireing was wrong. gotta be. checked it thouroghly. and nope not a problem with wires. we then tried to give it direct power form the battery. and of course, still no fukcin luck. we called shannon and talked to her and jim. she said they had an SAFC layin around and what we could do is come down friday and get it wired up and dynod. so thats what we PLANNED for. and in operation boosted tangerine... nothing goes as planned lol so we drove to jim and shannons and got the SAFC hooked up and the celi off the trailor. jim put in shannons numbers from her car. well jim tried crankin her over and we got nothin. so stevenson and jim played around with the timing and still we got nothing. we tried for about 5 hours. i had to be in exton pennyslvanis for a meeting at UTI se we left arlund 3am from jersey with the celica in jims driveway. saturday came and i went to the meeting then headed up to jim and shannons place. we didnt get started until dark. we started eliminating problems. one by one we narrowed it down. played witht he timing more and such. switch the map sensors and then the bitch fired up! that got me pumped. another problem we encounterd was that the safc wasnt responding to some of the changes. i was runnin 50% fuel. which it should have been around 30%. i kno im forgeting some stuff so cut me a break haha. but we got it running and drove it around the block last night. so today and tomorrow jim is tuning it and workin some small items. so tomorrow or wednesday i should be pickin it up and having my boosted tangerine. I cant thank everyone enough for helping me out. more updates later to come This post has been edited by SeverX13: Apr 1, 2009 - 9:16 AM -------------------- QUOTE ‹Superaison› i'm a computer inclined guy.. ‹Superaison› or girl. idk what gender I am anymore. ‹SeverX13› *facepalm* QUOTE suprakid: o sh!t suprakid: i wanna get an obama chia pet SeverX13: hahahahaha |
