There are ones made for the 5sfe but none for the 7afe Do any of u guys use it or heard of it? the one he has is made by p2r.

if you had a carburator, sure, it's not going to do anything for an EFI vehicle where the air and fuel aren't mixed until just before combustion chamer.

Wow, I want shiney red on my engine, would look cool, or something
PS. I've tried the Simota Super Spiral Turbo Ventilator (whatever you call it with 100 redundant words in the product name)... Another gas saver/just add torque mod/whatever These things have no positive benefits... And the ones with blades or jagged cut teeth or basically anything that reduces the total diameter or area of the intake line will act as an intake restrictor and reduce total max HP aswell as detriment Off-Idle throttle response. The throttle body spacer will increase the total volume of the intake manifold but you need some other mods to be able to fill that volume, the engine itself isn't going to recognise there's a bigger chamber of air to breathe from and somehow suck harder? I was wandering the same thing myself - is it worth spending money on? What do you need to benefit from the bigger volume? Would you benefit with just a cold air intake with K&N filter? Do you need a piggyback power module such as the Venom 400? This was an upgrade I wasn considering but am very hesitant as I haven't really heard of these much on fuel injected as I have with carbeurated. thanks.

Those mods are nothing like the carby slider, which was a fix for a poor design of the throttle mechanisms and the shape of the carburetor. Fuel injection and plenum is a far superior design.
From the throttle body back, the size of the plenum correlates to the air needs of the engine and the size of the valves, etc. It's all been calculated, there's nothing but detriment when it's been ****ed with as it throws off the proportions of everything else. The only things that are good for the intake are 1. forcing more air in, 2. getting colder air in, 3. allowing the engine to breathe through a less restrictive filter. -------------------- Mike W

Cool beans - that's kind of what I thought. In short the throttle body spacer would just be a waste of time and money and will not show any gains at all except for possibly throwing the system off? I already have a CAI with K&N filter. As far as forcing more air into the system the only way to do that would be turbo or supercharger - correct? Thanks for your input.

They make good paper weights! I know, i use one on my desk. They only benefit top mount carbs. Save the $50 for gas and a go-fast sticker (gas savings and +HP!)
But for real, don't buy one unless you want a spray bar for N2O. This post has been edited by caszboy: Mar 4, 2009 - 4:40 PM -------------------- |

Thanks - I was about to waste about $90 on one off of eBay - check out the listing: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAP...em=250253732870. They hype it up like you can get some real power gains + fuel economy.
