So I was looking online for a HO alt for my poor 7A, and i came across this page stating you could use a stock GM type on our Toyotas, getting a very good idle output, and very high total output. I know i may be flamed for putting a domestic part on my Toyota, but to get more power to my batteries and system and CarPC I think it would be worth it

It is worth a shot. Every once in a while you can come across high output ones on ebay.
You may have to splice the wires due to the plug differences... |

Splicing wires is no problem for me. -------------------- QUOTE "And, as always, your friendship, help, and dedication to the advancement of Texas Celica dominance is GREATLY appreciated. Then I would go for it, as long as it comes with the correct connector and tail.

it will provide more power to your system, lights, accessories. the stock alt is designed to handle a little bit more than the maximum current draw the car will ever need. once you start adding extra lights, amps, batteries, or any extra electrical load, the capacity of the stock alt is very quickly met and exceed.
With a high output alternator, you can run more stuff without draining your battery, and charge a dead one faster. -------------------- QUOTE "And, as always, your friendship, help, and dedication to the advancement of Texas Celica dominance is GREATLY appreciated. It's not that much of a stretch to use a GM part on a 7AFE, given that GM used this engine on a number of their small cars -- which is the reason why engines were not one of the problem areas on Metros, for example.
