came from toyotacelicas.com and like noone over there seems to help ne more.
Just to make sure, this is more a question and some help, i hope i am in the right section. ok i have a 7afe, i have completed everything i've wanted to bottom end. i had it bored from 81 to a 82.5 mm, forged wiseco pistons, pauter rods, rings (9.5:1 comp) high velocity oil pump, bearings ect... i am adding a turbo kit, looking at garret t25bb. ok with that mentioned, i cant find a single thing to where i can boost my top end. i was looking for cams with longer durations, performance springs, basically the works. so i am wondering, do any other heads fit on the 7afe, whats needed for the modification, machineing, ect.., i heard the 4age fit right on there, but i am still coming up empty handed looking for parts. and its pretty close the 7afe head. i would need all the SAFC and prob E-Manage, wiring harness and all that. i am wondering if any honda engines like the K series heads might possibly(way out there idea i kno) fit. if not i want something that i can work with and play with. i have a crap load of money and time into bottom end, i am in desperate need of help and i dont want to ditch it cause its a dead end if this is posted in the wrong forum i aplogize and please re-direct please help so please any ideas, or sites would be much helped |

it has taken me about 1 month to do the parts, my cousin actually owns a engine shop around here so all said and done i had the engine bored the 1.5 mm over for 160$, that included the acid bath, but take into consideration that he gave me deal. but i have the web site for the internals
http://www.importperformanceparts.net/impo...pek-toyota.html its number 27 on the list, gives you the pistons (u specify what size), rings(specify comp ratio), gaskets, wrist pins, main and rod bearings, timing belt, freeze plugs, thrust washers. i ordered the pauter rods, it has a link in blue along with the turbo kits. i opted to get the high velocity oil pump cause of the turbo i am gonna do. it cost me 1000 for all that and about 130 shipped. i havent bought the turbo yet cause i am worried about the head. but the link is right in the box, but they have like 4 differnet options in there, i would go with the extreme kit, thats what i am gonna do, it comes with all the little extras and intercooler, i would like to get a air to water, price for the basic kits is actually very nicely priced, when compared to other names like HKS and Turbonetics(not sure if turbonetics makes one for the engine). the kit is garret which is a really good name, very reliable. but after said and done with the bottom end it has been roughly 2100 dollars into the bottom end thats including shipping on the parts and machine shop work. i have spent about month installing parts, taken so long cause i work and go to school and all the good ****, but its better to take your time. ooo almost forgot to, i pulled this engine out of a corolla out of a junkyard, didnt want to take mine out of my car and wait so long, need a car to get me from places still, lol. so that engine had 120,000 miles on it, it was in decent condition, starting to get a little flaky, but the acid bath made it look like it was just dropped out of the mold. also made the parts install go easier, cleaned everything very nice the engine was only like 120 plus 50 bucks on a core, didnt turn one in, prob not, lol but yea i ve been to toyotacelica.com, celicatech.com and finally here for some advice on the top end. i would like to see if a K series honda head might work, most of the B series have the intake and throttle bodies on the left of the engine instead of the right like the 7afe, so there is a prob there, but i kno that the k series engines have alot of aftermarket parts especially topend. let me kno if yea have any other questions |

wow well thanks i appreciate it, i know theres another thread in this same section asking about that exact website and i was very curious to know if it really was a good deal, but you answered all the questions i have..i have the same problem i dont really wanna pull the motor from my car because its my dd but i might just have to i dont really have time right now to go find a donor motor, and right now im also debating on either low comp pistons for turbo down the road or leave it n/a and get some high comp pistons and try to make the most of it i havent decided yet right now i just have a vision of what i want and am trying to make it a reality and another question do you really think the pauter rods are worth the extra 749 when you get the kit? Thanks

yea it wasnt a problem
now i opted to buy the rods cause i when i get the turbo i wanna push the boost high, like atleast 14psi, i kno the stocks arent going to handle the pressure, thats my main concern, i kno these easily will cause they are the 4340 and a guy in my club has a rx-7 with the 2.2 turbo and bought them and he runs his car at 18 on up psi, so these dont worry me. but when i compared them these were a little bit longer, i didnt have enough sense to measure, so these might bring my stroke up and also my displacement. i havent used anything on the engine yet, and i prob wont until i can get the head figured, so i case i wanna sell everything or return the parts. hope that helps |

thats agian and my aplogies, there goes my hopes again. w/e if i can get topend, i am still gonna try to push 14psi and see what happens |

i dont have a problem with my engine, just want an head thats has some play with it, from what i seen from pics the 7agte the cams still have the sub gears on them, so its like still the same problem, but i am looking thru google, they might be different tho, does the 7agte head have parts readily available for play? i really dont want to dump this 7afe, ne advice.
also on the honda, i was saying it in example and it was a thought a maybe, i am looking for options for topend, from what i was seeing the k series is simialar in design to the 7a's head, might not be the same, but similarites, enough to play and build off, thats what customizing and tuning are about!! |

Searching is your friend. I've posted a lot of relatively detailed info on the subject of head swaps.
