i finnaly went to a shop that specializes in custom exhaust and had the guy check out my car. ne ways for u guys that have duel exhausts , where do u run the pipe for the second muffler (the one on the left), he said that above the axle there is hoses and there is no spot for a pipe, also he said that it would sound very loud unless he could manage to squeeze a decent size muffler in there (oval shape like the stock one)....so am i basically **** out of luck or does anyone have ideas

You mean dual exhaust as in u have one pipe from the DP and splits into two before the resonator or after the cat?
The way mine was was i had one pipe over the axel and it split right after it. The second pipe was parallel to the gas tank, thus being horrible for gases to pass. Its a bad idea, do it for looks and dont expect anything more. -------------------- |

That's how mine was too, and Ihated it, especially when it was cool out and you could see way more exhaust gas coming out of one muffler than the other one. -------------------- New Toyota project coming soon...

ahhhh, this is a major bummer, o yea i think it was after the cat, he was thinking that he could do it like a pontiac grand am where he would have a muffler with 2 inlet and run the pipe from 1st muffler to second muffler but he said that its a stupid thing to do becuase its worthless. i also asked him about if he could get the gases to come out even and he said proberl not with that setup...those hoses above the left side of the axle ... no way to move em right?

What you could do is have the pipe go over the passenger side axel, then 90 degree turn to the middle of the axil, then split it there.....

so would the split be under the fuel tank or right before it... is there enough room? and wouldent this restric the flow more

No, there's probably not enough room and yes, 2 90 degree turns would restrict it a LOT this is why most people go straight back |

Yeah, you could go dual exhaust, but it's just such a hassle, more expensive, more restrictive on one side, etc. I dunno about you, but I got sick of my dual exhaust rather quickly once I had it anyway.

Yeah, part of the reason why I didn't like mine was because of the mufflers themselves...I'm sure I would've liked it more with better mufflers...that said, the fact that exhaust visibly flowing out of them at different rates would make me want to get rid of it...I just thought it looked so horrible when my friend drove the car and exhaust only came out of one of the mufflers. ![]() -------------------- New Toyota project coming soon...
