Does anyone know if i can swap internal parts of the e153 (gears, synchro, etc...) with the one from e154f?

My st205 front clip is only 63000 km so i would seriously consider using internal from my e154f to rebuilt a camry/solara e153 from a salvage yard. That would be easier than converting my e154f to fwd.

The car won't be used on the streets, only on race tracks.

it woulc be easier to just use the take off the transfer case off the ST205 trans, use the solara cover plate and differential. dont try swapping all the gears around. just swap the differential and cover plate.

So all i really have to do is putting the diff and cover plate from my e153. Simple enough!

Would the st205 front axels still fit or I'll have to go with hybrid axels using inner e153 and outer e154f axle

I'll probably take advantage of having it open to put a lsd diff in it.

Yeah I've read that on another thread. But from my understanding, if i don't use the Toyota original lsd, i don't need to use mr2 turbo lsd axle.

So a Cusco or whatever other brand lsd should be alright. That's why i was asking if my st205 axles would fit or if i had to go with hybrid axels. Since the tranny is the e154f, i thought the st205 axels were fine without having to use hybrids.

you could use the drivers side axle but the passenger side will need a MR2 axle and ST185 hybrid, look up converting to E153 trans threads

Ok Thanks for the info! I thought because I could keep the modified e154f that both st205 axels could be used, but I realize now that the diff coming from e153 is changing things.

And for the cover plate, have I identified the right one?
