I have a Celica AT200, and is currently looking for some new wheels and tires. What is the perfect wheel size on my Celica? I am planning to lower it too.
Any answers will be appreciated! ![]() |

17s are seriously the way to go, I've had 14/17/18 and 17s are a great compromise of weight and looks.

pictures in my profile are on 18" wheels, they aren't over kill but they are heavy.

Ah, they look great! You have lowered your car, right?
Will f.ex 235/40/18 fit my car without rubbing? |

I believe 17s are the compromise between looks and comfort actually besides weight that is.

I have 16"s just so ive less unsprung weight. Toyota put 16" on the car so if its good enough for them...
![]() 17"s would look better but Super Strut doesnt appreciate heavy wheels. -------------------- ![]() |

im positive the roads are better in norway then in new york so 18's would be a good choice. i have 17's now because the 18's looked like stop signs after a year haha

How wide are your 16" rims, and what size tires are you using?

rule of thumb. if the automaker put it on it is probably the best best. 15's are stock. 16's are ok. anything else is really for show and not for performance.

For comparison purposes, does anyone know how much the 15" alloy stock GT rims weigh?

Most things automakers put on are for safety /detuned and are no optimal. They are designed for a specific market. If that was the case there would be no modding at ALL required. There is truly no perfect wheel size - it is all about you the driver and your preference. Some say 18, 17, 16, 15, get the idea?

[/quote] i understand your point. i'm just saying that toyota put 15's and 14's on the 6gc. so that car is built for that size rim. you can go bigger, but on cars especially for rims what is comes stock is what is meant to be. oil and rims are two examples. when you go with bigger rims the speedometer is screwed up and heaviness is also a factor. i won't go much bigger then 16's or 17's if you want performance. but if you them want show go bigger. -------------------- |
