i have a st202 3sge celica and want to get more power out of it, don't want to turbo the car. it is a 94 model
thinking of piper 285 cams, double valve springs and vernier pulleys along with a superchip icon igntion remap chip, uprated hks head gasket and arp bolts, with an uprated fuel pressure regulator. Looks like it would get me, off there estimates 22bhp. i would like a 4-2-1 manifold but can't find one to suit and i have a knN air filter and mongoose cat back exhaust with a decat pipe.
Any suggestions would be great

Forgot the SRI or CAI. I had a full exhaust system installed recently including the ebay header (pic in my profile). I thinkl I can feel a slight torque loss but definitely a nice increase in overall hp.

You might want to mill the head for higher comp. and add a better ignition along with plugs, wires and maybe advanced timing. (not really sure if you can do that with our cam design).

Why not go with the popular webcams?

Why dont you just bolt on a turbo kit and run low boost of around 5 - 7 psi. Std manifold and turbo from a ST205 will work well and give you a good power increase.

I take it you've stripped all the weight out? That's the best way to make it faster. Take EVERYTHING out.

You'll get small gains from the things you mentioned, but personally i would say it's not worth the money kindasad.gif

Why not get a GT-4?

CAI is a cold air intake and SRI is a short ram intake

ITB or cold airbox are the best IMO

For your 3SGE ST202, I'll suggest:
Tom's Tec II ECU(245PS)
Top Fuel intake manifold spacer
TRD racing head gasket
Denso IK20 Iradium Spark plug
Sard adjustable fuel regulator
TRD ignition cables
HKS cam with adjustable cam pulleys
HKS Super Power Flow filter wth intake pipe
HKS/FGK/RSR 4-2-1 header pipe
HKS Hi-power exhaust pipe
Koyo aluminium radiator
C-one engine cooling plate
Trust oil cooler
TRD quick shift set
Tom's light flywheel with TRD racing clutch
Tanabe stablizer bars(front and rear)
TRD/C-one 3pt front strut bar and C-one rear tower bar
TRD SUSKIT for CIRCUIT (S.S.S) suspension kit with spring F10 R8
Front 4 pots Rear 2 pots brake kits(swaped from ST205) with Earls brake hoses, TRD/Lockheed AP brake pads

Top Fuel intake manifold spacer

if im thinking what I think that is, its rubbish

someone on youtube got 195BHP with intake and exhaust and adjusted timing from a 3Gen

a NZ shop makes 3SGE & 3S-GTE cams etc .. so how about 312dur 12.30 mm lift biggrin.gif
http://www.camshaftshop.co.nz/index.php/19...l-products.html
but you can get some others made, properly want cam springs, but make sure whichever cams you put in, check if any headwork needs to be done to fit them in.

other stuff: up the compression 12.0:1, port the head (match porting etc) might want to go colder on the spark plugs as well

you can buy trd itb from trd itself.

plain the head for higher comp

cams

cam gears

cold air intake

ecu

race fuel

go 4-1 headers for power

best thing to do though is lighten the car. strip out undeeded ****, remove useless brackets, remove air con, cut bolts off that are longer then needed. etc etc
