Obama is visiting Czech republic and Prague. I have read announcements if we want to see speech of US president we must:
- pass through security procedure (detector like on airport) - no guns (of course) - nothing sharp - nothing made of glass - no umbrellas allowed - no cameras allowed - no recorders allowed - no cellphones allowed (?!) 25000 people expected there! I can not imagine that mess... This post has been edited by malpaso: Apr 2, 2009 - 2:35 AM -------------------- No more replicas... This is evolution... This is SS-four :)

i hear security is very tight when obama is in town, you need credentials just to get credentials to see him and then be checked and your stuff gets checked by dogs too.

When he came to Canada, he really didn't spend that much time in a public setting, but even when he was at Parliment Hill, security was rediculusly tight. I guess theres alot of people who like him, and I guess alot more who don't. But at the same time, I think they are making sure that hes going to be as safe as possible, now considering the Taliban has made threats against him and the white house.

There are still a lot of stupid people (at least here in the US) who still think that it is absurd to have an African American president. These narrow-minded individuals are also the kind of people who try to plan out assassinations, and attempt to follow through with them. This means we set up a ton of security around him. Some people just arent ready to see a black president, and some of those people are willing to kill to "correct" what they see as wrong.
It's a pity to see people like that still exist. -------------------- 1991 MR2 - T-tops - Crimson Red - Gen3 3SGTE - Lots of money

I think it's more the case that there are so many people in the world who hate the US and what it stands for, that to assassinate its president would be the ultimate statement. Look at the protesting that occurred in London just the other day when he and his old lady visited the Queen. A lot of the European nations blame the US for the current state of the world economy. IDK if it's reasonable to blame the US or not, maybe it is. But there are millions of hungry, angry, desperate people out there who have nothing left to lose.
Plus, if YOU were the guy who had to follow up 8 years of Bush, would YOU want to go anywhere without only the strictest security? It's real easy to still feel disenfranchised about the US Government after 8 years of the embarrassing bullsh1t we've displayed to the world. -------------------- |

This is what happens when other countries call on the US for help, then don't want to put up with the security measures US insists to be followed by. "U.S.-HELP- we dont want to get too many of our soldiers hurt, then you can GTF OUT!" GO USA

Shocker - you're from Texas
Bush invaded Iraq for no reason. He had us in there looking for these "weapons of mass destruction" that didn't exist... And he STILL invaded. Bush has put our nation's deficit to a staggering $11,115,336,041,759.85 (that's 11 trillion). Bush has driven our economy into the ground. Our economy has never been in a recession during ANY war. EVER. Bush had an approval rating of 22% when he left the office. That means 243 million Americans (out of an estimated 303 million total US population) feel as though he did a terrible job. That is a lower percentage than Nixon in the height of the watergate scandal. George Bush - Not my president. Never my president. -------------------- 1991 MR2 - T-tops - Crimson Red - Gen3 3SGTE - Lots of money

My aim was not to blame anyone or something... I was just surprised how high those security rules are. I have never seen anything like that... that's all.

Bush didn't create all 11 trillion of the national Debt...but probably a few...But hell thats ok Obama wants to tack on 1 Trillion in one hit  Our stock market also has never hit levels as low as it has hit during Obama's campaign... soooooo it goes both ways. I'm sure we could all do a better job This post has been edited by playr158: Apr 3, 2009 - 7:26 AM |

That's really funny sh1t. I voted for him, I support him, I wait. Patiently. But that's really funny!!! And DEATH you know I don't think Bush is the only president to ever do that, but in this case it's the most relevant example. -------------------- |
