As some of you know we've been working on building 100% new wiring harnesses from scratch using all new OEM connectors, wire seals, terminals, and wire. Here are some pictures of a nearly complete 4AGE blacktop harness. This harness is what we consider to be a "bare bones" wiring harness meaning that you could use it install a 20v into basically any vehicle. We can even add in the relays, fuse holders, etc to make it completely self-contained. This particular harness was tailored to an AE86 GTS swap, for example the wires for connection to the chassis were located in the area needed, and the igniter and coil plugs have been relocated to work with a distributor relocation kit.
The price on these new harnesses has not been set in stone yet, but we should have those numbers figured out pretty soon. We charged only $350 for this particular one. If the customer had supplied us with their GTS harness we could have wired it up plug and play for an additional charge. I think that this will be an excellent option for people with engines that have no harness, or a cut/damaged harness, or simply want everything to be brand new. Shielded cable is used for the 02 signal wire, knock sensor wire, and of course the distributor. The shielding is connected to ground, this absorbs electromagnetic interference of the low-volt signal wires. Normally I would loom this up with all new looming and make it look almost like factory. Per the customer's request we left it unloomed. -------------------- -Dr Tweak, 6GC's resident engine swap wiring expert extraordinaire Click here to see my swaps drtweak@phoenixtuning.com |

$350 is a steal, having done just wiring repair and repinning a few connectors it's a real pain. granted you're not working with 4 inches of wire upside down under the dash of a car, but its still a tedious job.

Looks great. Customer is probably going to tuck the wires and get the routing sorted before looming...
One of these days I'll be back behind the wheel of a 20V. Dr. Tweak, you should really get into the VW community. God knows oem wiring was terrible on those things. -------------------- 1991 MR2 - T-tops - Crimson Red - Gen3 3SGTE - Lots of money

Hey sup Dr. Tweak, long time no see Anyways, by chance are you able to make a conversion harness for the ST m/t connectors to mate up to the BT ecu? And also, are you able to make one for the AFM to the Blacktop AIT and Map sensor? Basically I'd want to convert the ST to run off of the blacktop electronics but still retain the conversion that you made for me before. Let me know if it's possible and how much it will cost. Thinking about getting it before the end of the year cause I'm getting deployed again. Thanks.

Building new harnesses from scratch like this is quite expensive. For that conversion, I would purchase a complete Celica ST harness, and then rewire it but using new terminals and connectors like you see above. I could do the whole job for $550 - $600 (you wouldn't have to provide anything). Hey, good to hear from you I do have patch/conversion harnesses like what you're describing for the ECU side, they are around $180 or so (I have to check exactly). However on the engine harness side it's a little more tricky, you would probably have to wire in the MAP and IAT. I will look into it for you though. -Doc -------------------- -Dr Tweak, 6GC's resident engine swap wiring expert extraordinaire Click here to see my swaps drtweak@phoenixtuning.com |

I have an 92/93 Celica that originally came with a 4afe, but have swapped in a 4age. I am looking to purchase a "bare bones" harness. Is this harness still in production?

Yes, we are still making these harnesses. The "bare bones" harness is more of a self contained unit and would require some wiring on your part once you get the harness back. We can make this brand new 20V harness plug and play into a Celica no problem!! -------------------- www.tweakdperformance.com
