I have polk audio RTi10 floorstands, Fxi3 Surround Speakers, CSi3 center channel, and a Polk PSW404 10" subwoofer. On the way is my Harman Kardon AVR435 and HK CD player. All will be hooked up w/ Monster Cable THX (2 digital cox, 2 fiber optical, component video, & subwoofer) also have THX 10' pair speaker wire for floorstands and waiting on M series center channel speaker wire.

*for you all that dont know HA setups, the retail price of this setup (just audio components) is over 4K. Very clean overtunes and can put out great volume. I'm still waiting on my amplifier so right now I've only listened to it on a pioneer reciever. Pio. $200 vs HK $1,000.....so the HK should be alot cleaner...

**I didnt pay retail price on any part of my setup... gotta love working in retail

velodyne is some good stuff. I considered the DPS-10 but I decided just to go w/ the polk. Later when I get my house done I think I'm gonna go w/ an inwall sub and just have it mounted under the floor.

Monster cable looks pretty but it's so over priced and comparable to wires that are a lot cheaper. I hope you didn't pay retail for those.

I'm with playr. I have the built in speakers for my panasonic th46pz800u, which are fairly impressive. (Also two psb image T55's and a Yamaha amp, connected with monoprice premium cables)

Monster cable is better than everything else. you can connect both up and hear the difference. There is even noticeable differences between monsters levels. I have two different level hdmis and you can see a clarity difference. But yea I got the speaker wires free and the other cables for like 70% off I think.

Glad you saved a boat load.

Please check out this link for just how great monster cable is:

http://consumerist.com/362926/do-coat-hang...-monster-cables

That's right. Coat hangers.

I do have some monster cables that I bought on ebay for a fraction of their regular price (I paid about $40 for a power bar that was retailing for $199), but when I had to get more cables, I bought from monoprice.com. The only difference I could see, besides the price, was that the monster cable ends were tighter fitting (excessively tight) but after a little crimp, the monoprice cables were just as good.

If you want the best, you aren't buying Monster. You would buy something like Coincident:

http://www.coincidentspeaker.com/trsextreme.htm

a 4' cable for $1095 and only a meager $150 per foot extra!

yea but i didnt get a ridiculous discount through that company.

and what that test isnt going to provide is that much digital interference. I'm sure you know that cell phone chargers is one of the highest interfers. And a hanger is gonna pick this up. I've listened to my speakers on a good amp and a entry level amp. I've had it hooked up w/ lower level speaker lines and good ones. And you definitely hear a clarity difference. Yes I know not everyone will hear it but someone thats played music for well over 10 years I'm picker than most. And I've been trained from years of working w/ sound equipment to pick up the differences. So i've played w/ it with my own stuff and love my setup. And I cant complain about getting a 100 dollar cable for 20 and 120 speaker wire for free. But I appreciate the site I did check it out. But you'll always find people to fight over it. I just enjoy my stuff haha.

I've done the technical and applied test for my oral communication speeches two years ago haha

Ever down by New Orleans swing by and check it out wink.gif

And that's all that matters. If you like it, that's what counts! Any time you can get a deal like that, it's a good thing, no complaints here.

New Orleans is on the list of places to visit, I just need a few minor things first, like time, money and a renewed passport. kindasad.gif

When I get some time though, I plan to redo my sub box in my trunk and get my AVI 12 in there which could beat my Kicker CVT any day for quality.

PS: Those PSB towers and Yamaha amp I received for free from a friend, so I can't complain about the sound quality because something is better than the nothing I had before!
