Help me out

well.. there are other factors to consider besides the hatch.. for example.. if you're getting the new hatch for $150 + shipping.. is it the same color as your car?? if not.. of course you have to paint to match your car.. and that's another sum of money.. r u DIY or sending it to a shop?? you have the tools to do whatever like welding n stuff?? those will also be a factor too..

as for me.. i'm planning to swap my 3 post with a 2post.. i bought my 2 post for $50.. which was a bargain.. got it painted myself.. painting supplies such as sandpaper.. clear coat.. paint.. filler.. primer.. etc etc.. everything i got for like $100.. i painted my spoiler with the help of my friend.. it turned out alright!!.. keep in mind that we painted it outdoors n with aerosol can paints.. i bought a pint of paint n put it in aerosol cans.. a pint of paint cost like $40 something n they charge me each aerosol can they put it in.. $7.. n a pint can fit like 4cans.. i got it off Heaths.. color code 199

my friend has a lot of tools.. welding machine.. drills.. so he's gonna help me drill n cover holes off my hatch.. i'm gonna help him of course.. i bought riser blocks from 1 of the members of the forum..

so far.. money spent
2 post spoiler - $50
riser blocks - $100 + $30 (SSIII stickers)
paint supplies - $100
treating my friend breakfast, lunch, dinner, beer etc etc - $100 so far n counting..
going for the SSIII look - I'M STILL ANXIOUSLY WAITING ON THE RISER BLOCKS!!.. VINCE!!.. WHEN????

i just realized that its about the same (almost) as purchasing a new hatch minus the work!!.. (its cheaper to DIY but if you're willing to pay a bit more.. less work) but i enjoy spending time working on the car.. so yup.. choose wisely..

and for painting i have a friend that works for a ford dealership and can paint it for me for $150 and i pay for supplies and all. so its a pretty good deal!!! and he is a good friend taht i can trust so i know im not getting fooled or anything.

thanks a lot for being helpful! i thnk im just going to drill, weld, and spend some tlc with my baby! tongue.gif
