You guys know how they sell all that different window tint colors? What if you did something where you made or got clears and somehow tinted them just like you did with window tint but used a color similar to the color of you car??
Maybe this has been discussed before but just a though I had today watchin traffic and figured I would share... not something I plan on doing but might be cool Let me know whatcha think --------------------  99 project version 3.0.. hello SEMA 2010 =) |

Completly Illegal in the US. you can only have yellow or orange collered turn signals.

As long as it's not a reflective piece of the car (i.e. taillight) the lens can be the same color as the car as long as the bulb inside is the right color and the lens doesn't distort the color too much when it is on. But of course you knew that I just don't think you read his post well enough.

i was thinking about taking clear turns and putting in a blue light... wanted to do the same with the front turn signal, but i figured MADDDDDD illegal, and screaming out "PULL ME OVER!!!"

This for real? I've seen many, MANY cars with green turn signals. It makes me want to vomit everytime I see one, but it's something I see pretty often, and a few blue ones as well..

I dont think neverstops talkin about the Green bulbs i think hes talking about the Tint of the glass that the turn signal is made of...and leagal....hell mine are flat black check my profile for pics if u want but i have had them tinted flat black for about 2 years now and have yet to been pulled over for it...i just used that NITE SHADE tint spray and the lite still shines through at nite...

Its pretty well known internationally that yellow and orange are turn signal colors, other countries im not sure about. At most "import" shops sell blue tinted bulbs that will flash white, which is illegal but not as bad as like a green or blue. Unless a cop really wants to fook with you prob wouldent matter.

Well, whatever. I think it's stupid that the lenses can't be the same color as the car as long as the bulbs are yellow/orange/amber. A cop would have to be a real douche bag to write you up for something like that so for all practical purposes I don't consider it illegal. You could probably convince a judge the same thing.

Cops will mess with you for any reason, and any tickets you get gonna raise your insurence, so if you want to pay alot a month I would just suggest staying Lagit.
The Guy with the Red Civic, got Pulled over 5 times in 1 day from having is lisencse plate in the wrong spot. DTE -------------------- I am a thief.

With my insurance the only things that raise the rates are moving violations. for example speeding, running a stop sign, inatentive driving... things like broken tail lights, improper color bulbs and such do nothing to raise it. Also I talked to one of the local cops that patrols the area I work and he said that as long as the light is amber when it's on the lense can be the same color as the car. He said the turn signal lenses aren't required to be reflective and just have to work when the signal is on. I guess here they aren't as strick as where you are. I've had my tag in the back window of my car for months now and haven't had a singal problem. -------------------- Project ST204.5 99.88946% complete... |

My front turn signals are red and I havent been pulled over yet...also helps that I know most of the cops in my town, but thats just my bulbs not the lenses themselves.
