Considering that they are both replicas, I think they're the same... You'll hear people argue that one is better over the other... but I'm pretty sure that they're the same quality...

I know that VIS uses 3 to 4 layers of fiberglass. Does anyone know how many Erebuni uses?

Good luck trying to find a body kit (made for our cars) that's made of urethane or plastic ...

People always talk about fiberglass cracking... if it isn't prepped properly, and if you don't adjust your driving style, then yes, it will crack...

I've been around... biggrin.gif

In that case, the Erebuni kits and VIS kits are equally comparable...

You probably won't find a plastic or urethane kit for the 6th gen celica. And he meant that if the fiberglass isn't prepped well, he also meant that you have to be more careful driving.

i disagree with people that say VIS is better than erebuni. i gotta erebuni 404A kit and VIS rear lip with VIS skirts...the front lip fit perfectly but the rear lip kinda fit sh*tty. i scraped a couple times and bottomed out once comin out of a gas station, but still no blemish, no crack, no nothing...im pleased with erebuni

It surprises me that people (in general) continuously say VIS is better than Erebuni and vice versa. But let me ask you all this (I guess just for peace of mind): Have you owned BOTH the Erebuni and VIS front, rear, and sides? Or are your opinions merely influenced by biased comments made by other individuals?

I've said this time and time again... fitment will always be an issue with replicas, UNLESS the body shop that installs the kit knows what they are doing. Personally, I can't make a legitimate analysis on this topic since I've never owned an Erebuni kit (primarily because I can get VIS kits $10 to $20 above cost), but the VIS kits that I've owned both the Veilside and Z-Glide styles and they did have "minor" fitment issues. However, since I don't believe in HALF-ASSED installations, the final results always came out just as if I bought the authentic kits.

But seriously... this is my recommendation: If you are going to buy a replica/knockoff kit, go with one that fits your budget and make sure it's made by VIS or Erebuni... Replicas of Replicas of Replicas simply will just give you even more problems... And once you get the kit, make sure you have it installed and painted by a reputable body shop.... Unless of course you don't care if the install is half-assed or not...

Just my $0.02.

Ok, one thing that i was trying to point out, is that say if your car is lowered an you have a firberglass front and you come in to a parking spot quick an you hit the curb a fiberglass with crack were as the ABS plastic or urethane nothing really will happen maybe some chiped paint or somtin..... and Yes the TRD makes a front end made of ABS plastic or urethane?

Yeah, I understand that... but the point of the matter is that there aren't any kits readily available in the US that are made of urethane...

In addition, that's another reason why I said that you need to be more careful and adjust your driving habits when you have a body kit... especially if your car is lowered...

i would seriously want to meet you and shake your hand kuya1284.

i always take time to read every single thing you say.

BTW. I have owned both the erebuni kit, and the VIS kit.

I had the erebuni kit with my other celica. I installed the kit myself and there where places where i had to modify it a lil to make it fit perfect. But, i crashed that celica on the 4th of July last year.

Then i bought another one and put the VIS kit on it. I went through the same sh** putting this one on too. The same basic mods had to be done to get a perfect fitment.

THEY ARE THE SAME.

So your best bet is to do what kuya1284 said. Get the one that you can afford. If you can install it yourself, be prepared to do a lil body work. If you seriously dont know what your doing, then take it to a shop and let them deal with it.

One day buddy... I'd like to meet a lot of you as well...

I'm also glad to hear that someone on this board has owned kits made by both manufacturers... Now we can put this whole argument to rest...

So remember guys, if you get asked which is better between the two companies... you can now tell them that they are *practically* the same...

Thanks for the confirmation on this sphinx...
