96 Celica GT-S st204.
Every other car I have seen has the Outer lights at your lowbeams but on mine it seems the other way Quick explaination: ( 1 ) ( 2 ) -------- ( 2) ( 1 ) ( M)---------------------(M ) (F)-----------------------(F) Starting up the vehicle Lights (2) come on as well as shifting into Drive Activated Lights on the wheel nob Lights (2) (M) come on Activating Hi-Beams on wheel nob Lights (1) (M) (F) come on, Please note light (2) goes out!!! I check the manual and it asks for 9006su bulbs for the low beams and 9005 for the high beams, i went out and bought a set of 4100k Halogen 9006 to replace my dimming low beams i go to replace them and THEY DONT FIT! that wiring harness only takes 9005 bulbs?!?!? Prior to me purchasing this vehicle it was all serviced by Toyota and they had put a brand new 5s-fe into it. DID THEY **** UP? every other celica I've taken a look at the the out lights ( 1 ) as the low beams and high beams active light ( 2 ) while low beams light ( 1 ) stays on. Just about ran over a 7 year old playing hockey at 10 pm because of my ****ty lights. Filing a law suit against Toyota? you tell me! |

It does sound like the wiring for your highs and lows are reversed. I believe that your DRL (daytime running lamps) are in the location that USDM high beams are. But I don't understand why your high beams would be the outter lights' location.
Go back to where you had the car serviced and have them fix it at their expense (if they're the ones who messed it up). It could well be that the previous owner did some fancy switch-a-roo or something and it was just a stupid idea. -------------------- |
