Hey everyone,

I have a 1996 GT-S Convertible. It is a 5-speed manual. So far, my gas mileage has been coming in at about 22-23 miles per gallon. I drive a fairly blended combination of open freeway and around town. Does this seem right? I expected I would doing better than this.

Still love the car, but surprised...

Was your car imported from Canada? I've never seen a gt-s vert in the states before.

You should be getting better mileage than that. You should do a tune up and then it should be better.

My auto GT convertible get's 22 city and about 27-28 highway.

Mine with mostly highway driving gets around 27-28. The best I've done which was about 90% highway was 30.5 on a drive down to Atlantic City a few weeks ago.

I've gotten as high as 32 freeway, i've gotten no lower than 23.5 city. On average I get between 26-30, more highway than city tho.

How are you guys measuring that exactly? By avg, toyota rates it as 23. With our worn out engines we shouldn't even be getting that anymore. unless it is an estimate or someones babying their gas or depends on how you floor the pedal.

There are websites that you enter the following information:

How much it cost to fill up your tank

How many gallons it took

How many miles you drove until you had to fill up again.

and it takes this information and calculates you mileage.

miles/gallons = mpg. no need to add the cost into the equation.
btw i get an avg of 18 mpg (city/winter), 24 mpg (city/summer), 30 mpg (hwy/summer)..

a couple gas tanks ago, i got 410 miles to the tank, which ended up being around 32 mpg... in my GT with intake, header and full custom exhaust... and with some spirited driving in there... Decided to try out the new V-Power gas by shell, 93 octane and was extremely pleased i must say... was very surprised to say the least

its truly a case by case basis for the moment you are only monitoring it. Honestly our cars will get less than what it used to give us brand new unless you have done a full rebuild and full tuneup.

Oh wait, numbers? No idea... All I do is stop and go through town. A couple times a year I get it out on the highway and my kilometerage (tongue.gif) seems to be decent, but in town, I seem to get at most 440kms a tank, give or take a few.
