Since monday ive had problems with the cars engine idle. It doesnt like starting from cold, but when it does start its not to bad. Then when ive been driving and its warmed up everytime i slow down and put it into neutral the revs drop and it stalls or if it doesnt stall idles rough and revs at around 500-700rpm. Ive got a video here of what happens just incase its obvious to someone else? Im also told that ICON Race Superchips are notorius at failing...could that be the problem? How do i take the ICON Chip out...got a few pictures of how luke had it wired in but im not sure about taking it out.
Also in the video i show 3 sensors...the first is the white one....second gray and 3rd is that dirty black one. Can anyone tell me what they are? Also where would i find the idle control valve sensor? Cheers all! Video here! This post has been edited by Tom88: May 20, 2009 - 4:43 PM |

Hey man, it sounds like your TPS is out of adjustment. And the ISCV can be found underneath the Throttle Body, its a green plug, 3 wires. Theres 2 coolant lines that run into it, and a vac hose for the PS.
Alot of times the ISCV clogs up, and can cause bad idle, but so can the TPS, and i wrote some instructions on the bad idle thread. |

BUT now also i have two more problems....after only a 3minute drive the engine was INCREDIBLY hot and also the fuel gauge needle stays at about 1/3 of a tank even with the keys out of the ignition.... Anyone...? PLEASE!! |

My car is also stalling at idle, but once it warms up it runs fine. I at first thought this may have been bad gas that perhaps contained water... So i went down to my local autoparts store and bought dry gas and dumped it in. This didnt work. Can you provide me with a link to your instructions on cleaning the IAC? and also... should I use carb cleaner? or throttle body cleaner? |
