Hey guys happy turkey day.......

Maybe you guys can give a monkey a helping hand, I've got a Lotus Exige with a 459rwhp turbo setup and I've gone through my second C60 gearbox..third gears stripped due to torque...
I've ordered a E153 gearbox and was wondering if any of you guys could steer me in the right direction for the swap...

I know the bellhousings are different........has anyone here screwed with this combo.?

Thanks guys...don't eat too much biggrin.gif

a 7th gen celica board might be able to help more or toyotanation, this generation of vehicle doesnt use the ZZ series.

have you considered having the C60 rebuilt with hardened gears or gears machined of something a little stronger than the usual steel?

I'm not willing to waste any more time and money on a third gearbox that is known to be week.......The e153 can take the power but getting things to line up is the issue....I was hoping one of you guys might have done a 2ZZ swap.

as said before, we don't have much acknowledge on 2ZZ engines / tranny combos, but you may wanna look into the E58 or E51 tranny, It has better chances of fitting than the E 153, the E 153 was made for S series engines, I think I read it was possible to install a 6 speed tranny from a 7th gen celica into a 6th gen ST ( 7afe ) so if this is possbile that means that you can go backwards as well. the E 51 or E 58 are made for A series engines, which would make them work on the 2ZZ, assuming the above statement is possible.

if this is possible It would be wise for you to go with a E 58 with LSD.

its a E153 with the bell housing machined to accept a 2ZZ bolt pattern. there is alot of modification involved.
