where I am you can easly pick up a BEAMS for $1,500US, Blitz supercharged 3SGE cost about $3000 QUOTE the 3sgte stock can pop out a good 350whp tuned could you explain this for me? IMO the BEAMS 3SGE is only good standard (plus intake and exhaust) the 3rdgen 3SGE is better for doing up the beams 3s-ge vvti is the newest engine, the older engine (3rd gen 3s-ge) uses the same component as the 3s-gte just no turbo, its a better engine from a performance perspective plus it will handle more power |

most people want a crap load of power out of their celica's, since the gt n st model are super slow to begin with. so thats why the go turbo or get the 3sgte. i am a fan of the 3sgte but just more of a fan of the N/A beams. I just dont like the whole idea of somewhere close to 300hp on a ff celica.. if i were to get the 3rd gen 3sgte, would keep it completely stock except for intake and 3" cat back exhaust.
And of course the beams didnt even get that much aftermarket performance support. They dont even make headers for the beams. you have to go custom wtf is that?? yes the beams has its limits for upgrading....as the 3sgte has alot more options......but going to far with the 3sgte on a frnt wheel drive car can happen.......the beams is a GREAT motor for thoes ones that like n/a just straight motor.......i see alot of ppl now doing k20 swaps (not in a celica)....all becuz its a n/a....its straight motor with lots of power.....for a n/a motor the beams is well worth it

I paid $2600.00 for my engine, harness and comp. (no front cut) It was missing parts. By the time all was said and done I had spent around $3500.
You can't find a header for the BEAMS because it comes stock with one. Why bother to remake a good header. This post has been edited by Outsider: Jun 7, 2009 - 12:12 AM -------------------- 1994 GT-S (BEAMS) swap complete |

Remove the heat shield and it'll look like an aftermarket header. I paid $2100 for mine with all necessary parts, but I'm expectin to spend about the same once done ($3500) . |

But yes i know you do need to wrap headers if you do not have a heat shield. I had ebay headers without wrapping and with, and there was quite a different. Your saying that the header for the redtop beams has a great design, and i believe your right. So ya can you explain the similarities between the 3rd and 4th gen 3sge plz.... -------------------- Group buy to replicate Narrow E series transaxle parts

1600$+ for the engine, 600-800 in shipping (unless you find locally) looking at 1500 in labour/parts then actualy getting it to run properly. But i advise avoiding those back alley shops that promise they will do it for half the other guy Beams red top doesnt go for that cheap. Show me a front clip/engine, whatevers (everything for a swap in out job), red top for that cheap, if you find one from a reputable place im getting it that instant. John I told you a long time ago I can get you one from a reputable importer [The Houston crew has bought several good clips from this place] for $1500 OBO. One of my best friends also works there so I can help with loading/shipping etc. BTW it's a full clip with body parts, steering wheel etc etc. This post has been edited by DEATH: Jun 27, 2009 - 1:34 PM -------------------- ENGINE: '93 RC 3S-GTE/WRC CT-20b [18-20PSI] PERF: TRD/HKS/ARP/NGK/MSD/ACT/Blitz/STRI/APEX'i/TwosRus/GReddy/Magnaflo/KOYO SUSP: Tein/Bilstein/SusTech/ INT: SS-III SEATS/Toyota Hyper Sports EXT: WRC/TRD/404 Its a safety feature so that people like you don't end up killing themselves or everyone around them. Death ... hook me up with a beams.... Totally - last time I asked how much they wanted for this clip the said "make an offer". It's been sitting there for 4 years that I know of. I do know we got a Caldina GT4, Levin SCd and several ST-185 and MKII MR2T clips all for $1500 [or less in the case of some multiple clip deals]. My understanding is they are converting to a rim/parts wholesaler and are just trying to clear their inventory at near cost. If you are serious and have cash in hand - make them an offer and I'll do my best to make it happen. -------------------- ENGINE: '93 RC 3S-GTE/WRC CT-20b [18-20PSI] PERF: TRD/HKS/ARP/NGK/MSD/ACT/Blitz/STRI/APEX'i/TwosRus/GReddy/Magnaflo/KOYO SUSP: Tein/Bilstein/SusTech/ INT: SS-III SEATS/Toyota Hyper Sports EXT: WRC/TRD/404 Its a safety feature so that people like you don't end up killing themselves or everyone around them.
