my windows seems to be loose on both driver and passenger sides...when i was at a toyota dealership, i told them of this problem....they suggested that i might need an adjustment and tightening of the window to solve the problem...I don't want to resort to them because it's an arm and a leg....i have searched the forum here and couldn't find any info about tightening the windows....any one with any suggestions or tips to do it correctly? checked online as well and nothing helpful. how do i make sure the windows are where they should be or if the window is even loose? the reason i say this is because the window can flex back and forth (rattling when i close the door) easily compare to new car doors when i close it....not a solid closing sound, hence the window rattles...hopefully that makes sense to someone. rolleyes.gif

I have also this problem. When I close my door with the window half down, it rattles like ****, and does not make any quality character.

i also had this problem and it turned out to be an easy fix. simply take off the door panel and tighten a single nut at the bottom of the door. you cant miss it.
I have to go to my physics course now but ill take some pics of the inside of the door as the nut got loose and it rattles again. im gonna use some lock tight. hopefully it doesn't rain today

That's exactly what you need to do - enderswift is correct. Just make sure you don't overtighten the nuts because you could crack the window. There are 3 nuts you tighten IIRC. You'll know when you get the door panel off, there are service holes where each one screws on. You will likely have to put your window down part way to line the screws up with the service holes. To tighten them, you'll need a socket... I think it's a 10mm IIRC but it might be 14. If you don't have a deep socket that reaches, you may need an extension so you can reach the couple of inches in to the service hole to reach the lug nuts.

Take off your door panel and roll your window up/down until you see the nuts; IIRC there should be holes in the sheet metal where they will line right up

My rear passenger power window goes about 80% of the way up and then stops. I can then push the up button and pull up on the winder with my hand and it will go into place. Is this also my problem? Also, can anyone tell me how you remove the interior panel to get to the window? I have a Celica GT-S convertible.

Thanks!

Youll have to lower your window to reach some of the bolts through the maintenance holes. And likewise, raise it to reach other ones.

Put your window down all the way first and you'll see them. I've circled the service holes for you. I'm pretty sure I've circled the right ones as I recall them, but I may be off. You can't miss it though once you've put the window down. Just do it and you'll see. This is SUPER easy.

The lowest ring is where the manually window crank thing is. Sure there are some adjustment screws behind that one? Because then I have to remove a lot of stuff.. tongue.gif

when i did this... i just tightened the nut at the very bottom (behind that horizontal bracket). it solved all my noise issues until it got loose again. try that first and if it doesn't work out then go ahead and mess around with the adjustment screws everyone else suggested.

use locktite btw
